Read at school and at home
GCS offers over 5000 eBooks for middle school students to read at school or at home. As long as students have access to an internet connection, they have access to books!
See below for instructions about accessing and reading eBooks.

Where do we find eBooks?
eBook Homescreen
Click on the "hamburger" to open the menu.
Ho do we login to Destiny Discover eBooks?
From the home screen, find the Login button in the top right corner. You can also go to the main menu. Login/Logout is listed at the bottom.
Example:

password = 01012001
TIP: If you are having trouble logging in, use the Chrome browser. eBooks work best in this browser.
TIP: If the login information does not work, try closing the browser and starting over. The Try Again button rarely works.
How do we find books to read?
CAREFUL! The search results will list ALL items available in the Erwin library on that topic unless you limit your format search. Be sure you are looking at EBOOKS.

How do we read an eBook?
Books that are currently checked out by another patron, will have a Hold button.
To read the book, click Open.
To checkout the book, click Checkout.
If you click on the book cover image then click More Details, a details page for the book will open. Here you can also Open or Checkout the book.
When you open the book, it will open in a new browser tab. You must go back to the Destiny Discover tab to check the book out.
Use the "carrots" ( < > ) on the left and right side of the screen to navigate through the book.
To adjust how the book is shown on the screen, Click on the Aa in the top right. This opens a box that allows you to determine if you want to view one or two pages of the book at a time. You can also adjust the font size and background color.
After making the adjustments, click the X to close this window.
