Dear Families,

Next week begins state testing for our district! It's as important as ever that students come to school well-rested and ready to focus. Please help us ensure scholars get a good night's sleep and are able to fully participate while at school. If your child is fully virtual, teachers will be reaching out to offer specialized testing times on Wednesdays for your scholar. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

As a reminder, we are already enrolling for our summer learning program, Summer Advantage! This program is packed full of learning experiences for your student centered around math, reading, and enrichment opportunities. The program runs from 8:00-2:30, Monday through Friday, July 6th-30th. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily. Spots are limited, and they are first-come, first-served. This year, we moved to a new behavior management platform, Kickboard, to keep parents informed of student behaviors. Students earn Kickboard dollars to spend in our school store for good behavior! Each week, I'll be highlighting the top students in our Kickboard system here. Usually this will be the Top 25 students, but because of some recent class competitions, this first week includes an extra 15 scholars. All of our scholars have received devices for virtual learning. Below are a few tips to ensure the technology devices are not accidentally damaged or lost.

- Ensure the case remains on the iPad or Chromebook.

- Ensure food and drinks are not around the technology devices.

- Ensure scholars are stationary when using the iPad or Chromebook.

- Monitor data usage. (Make sure hotspots are turned off and disconnected when not being used for school work.)

- When lessons have concluded for the day, ensure the scholar places the device in the same location each day.

- Ensure the technology devices are plugged into the charger at the end of the day in order for the scholars to have a fully charged device for the next school day.
