Welcome to PRSSALB's official newsletter, Bonfire, your weekly look into what is happening on campus and all things Public Relations.

This week we celebrate some of our phenomenal PRSSALB women who are featured in DIG!, a student-produced arts and culture magazine published by CSULB's Department of Journalism and Public Relations; announce that our membership deadline has been extended and share some awesome ways to get involved.

DIG Mag: The Women's Issue

Morgan Milobar, President of PRSSALB, is spotlighted in the Spring 2025 Women's Issue of CSULB's DIG magazine. 'Leading With Passion' by Melina Saad writes that "CSULB is a hub for women in leadership." Morgan, a third-year public relations major shares about her journey to step up and take on the role of president when the opportunity opened up. She says, "Do it while you're scared" and "If you tell your mentors that you are nervous, they'll be there to help you."

DIG Mag: The Women's Issue

Ashley Lacambra, former Director of Communications for PRSSALB, is featured in the Spring 2025 Women's Issue of CSULB's DIG magazine. 'Plights & Flights' written by Kaitlin Neang details the journey Ashley has been on as she returned to finish her degree. Kaitlin writes about the many hats that Ashley wears as she completes her last semester before graduating: "She is not only a student at CSULB studying communications and PR, but also a part-time light attendant and the full-time mom of her 1-year-old daughter."

PRSA: Black History Month

"As we celebrate Black History Month, PRSA proudly recognizes the contributions of African Americans to the rich and diverse legacy of public relations and communications, and honors the communicators who are writing today’s Black history. This month-long initiative was started by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who began the program in 1926 as a week-long commemoration.

Thank you to all who came out to support PRSSALB, last Wednesday, across the street from CSULB at Cha for Tea. It was lovely to see new and old faces - and catch up away from the responsibilities and pressures of school.
