Volunteers, BBPAC and the PTA are three ways you can work with the Sabin staff to help guide the support, programs and initiatives that impact Sabin directly. I hope you will consider joining the PTA as a member or in one of the open leadership roles.
As we head into summer please continue working with your child by reading together, discussing math, playing and building and asking questions. Your student is a sponge for learning and the summer is a great opportunity to practice skills and enjoy learning together.
BLACK HAIR-ITAGE NIGHT Was a Success!
Thank you to all the families that came out for Black Hair-itage Night. It was a great time of community and support. A special thank you to PTA and BBPAC as well as the fabulous braiders and barbers, Mr. Ronnie's family and Rose City Eats for the amazing food.

PTA needs YOU!
Calling new leaders for the Sabin PTA!
From academic support to community events, Sabin’s PTA provides essential fundraising, organizing and volunteer support to enrich our school community and support the well-being of students and teachers.
We need Sabin caregivers to step into the roles of President/Vice-President, Secretary, and Room Parent Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. Roles can be shared if you’d like to partner with another community member!
Please reach out to Sarah Bokich at smbokich@gmail.com with interest.
As summer approaches, the Lost & Found grows! We would love to have a few volunteers help organize our waterfall of coats and sweatshirts.
We will begin to donate items as school comes to a close.
Please reach out to Ms. Vawter (kvawter@pps.net) if you would like to help.

Still looking to fill a few holes in your summer camp calendar?
A Sabin parent has created this resource for locating Portland summer activities.
We are so excited to share that School's Out, www.schoolsoutapp.com, is now live in Portland!
Our mission is simple: 'Search, schedule, share activities for your kids--all in one place.' Our platform allows parents to filter summer camp activities based on key criteria like age, date, activity type, before care/after care, special needs accommodations, scholarships, and more. It's completely free for summer 2024, and with over 500 activities listed (and more being added all time!) you are sure to find a great fit for your child. The initial launch focuses on the summer months, but we will be expanding year round very soon.
Questions? Feedback? give us a shout: hello@schoolsoutapp.com.

June is Pride Month! Join us June 6th 5:30 - 7:30 for Sabin's LGBTQIA+ Family Night
We will be having waffles! Gluten-free and vegan options will be available.
Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you or your student do not identify with this community. All we ask is that you honor and are mindful of the event's purpose: to foster a space that centers the experiences, visibility, and community needs of LGBTQIA+ families and students.
