March Dates to Watch:

3- 7th grade boys and girls basketball begins

7- Quarter 3 assignment cutoff date

Students can check out and renew books in-person before school, during ELA class visits, after school, and with a pass from their teacher. The library can renew books by emailing the librarians. The library offers a book door-dash system for book requests via the library catalog, Destiny. From time to time, the library will email notices to students about overdue and late books. Fines are only assessed for damaged or lost books. We do our best to repair books and minimize costs to families, but some books are beyond repair. Please talk to your student about keeping track of their library books, keeping them away from pets and small children, and avoiding liquid spills.

Students should be transporting their laptops in a protective case to and from school. To avoid damage, please keep laptops from extreme heat/cold and avoid liquid spills. Do you know if you have device protection? Go to PowerSchool and view the Payment Portal on the right-hand column. You can view payments or bills. Stay tuned for an announcement regarding device protection in the next district newsletter. Lastly, please remind students to keep track of their device and charging cord. These should not be loaned to others for use.

Attention Parents! The basketball season is right around the corner! Boys’ basketball tryouts will begin on March 3, and girls’ tryouts start on March 4. If your child is interested in playing, please register now through Aktivate. You can find the link to sign up and information on paying fees on the Lewis & Clark Athletic Website. Please note that all fees must be paid by February 28 in order for your child to be eligible for tryouts. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to be a part of the team!

*What: Free tutoring (all subjects) for the 24-25 school year provided by Renaissance High School students at LCMS

*Where: students report to the front office after school with their schoolwork to check-in

*Who: Any LCMS student that needs help with homework

*When: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3-4 pm, no appointment needed

Parents and guardians can call ahead to arrange for their students(s) to be ready for early pickup. Simply contact the LCMS main office at (208) 350-4270 with the student's name and the desired pickup time! By calling ahead, we can ensure your child is prepared and waiting for your arrival. Thank you!

A new application needs to be submitted each school year. Benefits do not carry over from the previous year.

Congrats to Mrs. Schwartz, our incredible World Civ teacher and Student Council leader! Not only does she inspire students with her knowledge of history, but she also serves as a guiding light to everyone who walks through the door. Whether it's through the Student Council or helping a student in need, Mrs. Schwartz is always there with a helping hand and a kind heart. She truly deserves this recognition for all the positive impact she's made!

A huge shoutout to Mrs. Pearce, our amazing bookkeeper who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes! She is the backbone of our school and is always there to support anyone who needs help. Her organization and dedication keep our ship afloat and we couldn't do it without her!

ENGLISH: We are writing narratives using nonfiction sources.

WORLD CIV: Learned about Greek philosophers and practiced Socratic questioning. Students took a personality quiz to find out if we would have been an ancient Athenian or Spartan. They wrote diary entries or comic strips from the perspectives of different lifestyles of ancient Athenians or Spartans.
