Hello Lowell Families! Once again, I want to thank all of our students who have participated in our learning at home sessions and work this week! Your attendance and work completion is important and much appreciated! We have two weeks of school left for this year, and it is important to finish strong and continue to attend classroom zoom meetings and to complete the video lessons and choice board activities. So keep up the good work so we can finish this year strong!

As the school year comes to an end, it is important to us to return your student’s personal items. We have developed a plan for item retrieval similar to our technology device distribution. All schools will be distributing student personal items via a drive through service the week of June 1st. If your children have personal items at school you want to retreive, we are asking parents to please complete this survey at bit.ly/endofyearpickup to assist us. Warren staff will be packing up these items over the next few weeks to prepare for distribution. In addition, we will also be collecting school issued textbooks and library books that your child may have at your home at this time.

We will continue our Spirit Day Mondays into next week. Since our students and staff have been such superheroes over the course of Learn at Home, we will designate Monday as Superhero Monday! So boys and girls, wear your superhero gear on Monday and have someone take a picture of you. Please forward these pictures to your teachers or to me at kgriffin@warren.k12.in.us

MSD Warren Township and Warren Central High School are proud to announce that we will be partnering with the Marion County Health Department to provide drive thru COVID-19 testing for our community. The testing site will be accessible on the southside of the high school campus off of 16th street starting Wednesday, May 20th from 6AM - 2PM. Testing will continue on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6AM - 2PM.

Testing is free and registration is required. You can register onsite or online at MarionHealth.org/INDYCOVID.

Lowell is hosting a Scholastic Online Book Fair starting on May 6 and running through May 19. Ordering is now open. There are a lot of great selections to choose from if you are interested in ordering books! Our homepage address for the online book fair is bit.ly/3f5MK8Y All orders will ship directly to your home. It's a great way to find some good books for summer reading! Again, the book fair runs from May 6 - May 19.

Online registration for Preschool and Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year is now available on our website, warren.k12.in.us, under the Explore Tab. You may register your child now. Children must be age 5 on or before September 1 to register for Kindergarten and age 3 on or before September 1 to register for Preschool.

If you are a current Warren Early Childhood Center parent and your child will be attending a Warren Elementary School, please call our hotline number at 317-608-0545 and we will assist in getting your information moved over. If you have a new Preschool or Kindergarten student attending Warren, please use the online registration process. We are also accepting out of district applications at this time.

Mrs. Hand, our school counselor, is hosting two Monday Meet-Ups for students who would like to pop into a zoom session and just check-in and maybe play some games. The District will be making a couple of adjustments to our food outreach program starting the week of May 4th. We will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am -1pm at 11 locations. Renaissance School, located at 30th and Post Road, will be a new site and will replace Hawthorne Elementary. Wednesdays will continue to be 5:30pm- 7pm at 2 locations. We will continue on Wednesdays at Lakeside Elementary and will add a new site at our Moorhead location at 8400 East Tenth Street. Because there is a need for a refrigerated space, we could no longer use Post Road Christian Church. We appreciate Post Road Christian Church and their partnership with our food outreach program. Playworks has for over 24 years focused on bringing games and activities to schools, while creating a safe and healthy recess for students. We are now, more than ever, committed to responding to the need for continued healthy activities at home through several resources we are offering for free:

• Play at Home Webpage: A library of videos and other resources featuring games and activities families can play at home. Each meeting the CDC requirements of social distancing and limited equipment. All available free on the Play at Home webpage

• Play at Home Playbook: This game guide has a variety of games and activities families can do in their own home, with little to no equipment necessary.

• Live Virtual Recess: A Playworks Coach leading a morning warm-up, a midday game, and an afternoon cooldown each day. Anyone can tune into Facebook Live Monday- Friday at 12:00pm, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm EST and play along.
