No School on Monday, January 20 - MLK Day Recognition:

Please be reminded that there will be no school on Monday, January 20, as we recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It's a day to honor the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to the civil rights movement and reflect on the values of equality and justice.

i-Ready Diagnostics - Celebrating Student Growth:

This week marks the beginning of our i-Ready diagnostics, and we're thrilled to share that we are already witnessing remarkable growth among our Falcons! We appreciate your continued support in recognizing and celebrating your students' hard work and progress.

Future Falcon Night / High School Preview Night:

Save the date for an exciting event on January 28th – Future Falcon Night! This will be an excellent opportunity for students and families to learn more about Alice Vail Middle School and also get a chance to visit with up to 10 TUSD high schools! The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, and there will be food trucks and student performances to enhance the evening. If you're available to help during the event, please let us know. Your support is invaluable!

📢 Important Update for Families

Going forward this year, students must bring their school ID with them every day. IDs are required as part of the sign-in process if a student arrives late. If a student does not have their ID, they will need to visit the library to request a replacement.

We are in need of chips, candy, and juice boxes.

Thank you for all the donations so far. Please continue to donate. We need lots of chips, they really like the hot ones, juice boxes, movie theater candy, mini packages of cookies and always stuffed animals.

Alice Vail Middle School

Our 8th grade ELA teacher, Mrs. Chau Tieu-Mitchell has a campaign on DonorsChoose. She is asking for help in introducing her students to new media for literacy. Her request includes donations for headphones and audiobooks. Audiobooks are highly valuable in improving reading comprehension, vocabulary and reading fluency.

• All cellphones are in students' backpacks during the school day.
