A great way to communicate with your students teacher is through email. Just a reminder that staff will try their best to return emails in 24 hours, not counting weekends or holidays.
The Nurses Corner
It 's That Time of Year: The change in weather has certainly arrived. With the arrival of this winter white glisten and much colder temperatures please send your children with WINTER GEAR: Snow pants, jackets, hats and gloves everyday.
AND
We are looking for good used winter gear for students. If you have any gear to donate please reach out to your child's teacher to see if they need the gear for students in their class or the nurse at annette.jeinnings@wsesu.net
Hartland continues to grapple with sickness across the grades. We continue to battle random cases of COVID, RSV and the flu along with many cases of upper respiratory infections and viral infections. Please remember to keep your child home if they are vomiting, have a fever or diarrhea. CHildren are required to be free of these symptoms for 24 hours and without any medication prior to returning them to school.
Please remember to send your child to school with a refillable water bottle daily to keep them hydrated during the day.

Thankful Thursday
As we move into the month of November, we would like your help in showing our staff how much they are appreciated for their dedication to all of Hartland's students and families.
If you have a few moments to spare, please complete this Google Form and provide a note of appreciation to the staff member of your choice that we can deliver to them on Thursday's throughout the month. Feel free to submit this form multiple times if you would like to provide multiple notes of appreciation for different staff members.
THANK YOU!

Hartland School Survey
The Hartland School Board is wanting your feedback. There is a consideration of changing the current name of Hartland Elementary School to "Hartland School." The intention behind this consideration is to try to be more inclusive of all our K-8 Hartland students. Please feel free to give your feedback to the board below.
Library Update
I am teaching Hartland Elementary 6th grade in a unit on toy hacking during their Interdisciplinary Learning class. We use the engineering design process to work through identifying possibilities, creating, problem-solving, testing and reworking. This is a fun and engaging unit for them. I went to the Listen store to get materials, but this is a large class, and I am in need of 30 used working battery-operated children's toys. If you are cleaning out before the holidays, I will gladly accept donations of these toys. They can be dropped off at Hartland Elementary School during school hours or please contact me and we can arrange a pick-up. My first rotation begins after Thanksgiving and the second rotation happens after the beginning of the new year.
Secondly, I want to let parents know that the School Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. It will be open each day from 7:30-8:00 and 2:30-3:15 the week of November 28th through Dec 2nd. It will also be open to the community on December 1st during the School/Community dinner from 5:00-6:30 in the library. This supports bringing in authors to work with students. At the same time, our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a book for every student during the book fair to provide an equitable experience for all. If you want to help support this, you may click on the link to make a donation to the Hartland Book Fairy.
Hope to see you at the book fair. (Great opportunity to drop off working used battery-operated toys)
Thank you,
