I hope this message finds that you enjoyed a restful break with your loved ones. As we approach the end of the semester, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued dedication to academic excellence.

The Antelope Valley College (AVC) classes have concluded, allowing our students to fully focus on the final two weeks of their high school courses here at SOAR. This is a crucial time for our students as they prepare for finals and wrap up the semester on a strong note. I encourage everyone to make the most of these last weeks, seek support when needed, and finish the semester with pride in their accomplishments.

Looking ahead, I am excited to announce that the application season for the Class of 2029 is just around the corner! We are on the lookout for new STARS who are ready to embark on an enriching educational journey with us. The application will be available on our website starting January 13th, providing prospective students and their families an opportunity to join our exceptional learning community.

If you know of any students who would thrive in our unique early college high school environment, please spread the word and encourage them to apply. We believe in nurturing talent, fostering a passion for learning, and preparing our students for success beyond high school.

SOAR Palmdale Winter Ball - 12/13/24 (AVC Lancaster Cafeteria)

SOAR Palmdale’s Class of 27 is pleased to invite you to their Frozen in Time Winter Ball on December 13th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. It will be held at the AVC Cafeteria on the Lancaster campus. Food will be provided for free by Raising Canes and Nothin’ Bundt Cakes. Permission slips are available now in the front office for both SOAR Lancaster and SOAR Palmdale students. Prices are as follows: Presale (for SOAR students): $20, Guest: $22, and At the Door for SOAR students: $25. The presale will run after school from November 18th to December 12th with Ms. Vargas and Ms. De La Cruz. Permission slips and tickets are also available on our webstore under “Palmdale Class of 27.” Guest permission slips are due on December 9th and SOAR permission slips are due on December 12th. Class of 27 hopes to see you there!

El autocontrol es algo más que una habilidad: es un superpoder que capacita a nuestros alumnos para afrontar los retos de la vida con resiliencia y gracia. Did you know that the AVC Student Health department provides FREE in-person mental health counseling to currently enrolled students?

There is a therapist on-site Thursdays 1-5 p.m. in SSV 187, with other days and time options available to accommodate your schedule. Counseling support services are provided in partnership with Bartz Altadonna Community Health Center. “When you need to talk with someone face to face, we're here,” said Jen Winn, Student Health.

It's important that all members of the SOAR community are familiar with behavioral expectation, academic integrity policies, dress code, etc. Students will be getting a copy of the planner through AVID classes soon. Again, until then, we ask that you review our online version of this document.
