Dear SVDP Community,

This week we welcomed many prospective families during our Open House. If you know any families in the kindergarten search or perhaps interested in a transfer, please connect them with our Admissions Team admissions@svdpsf.com. We are offering small group tours, registration button is below. Current family siblings follow the same timeline as new families.

We appreciate that the shift from hours to points has caused some confusion. Click this link to get more information about points.

Please read carefully the directive from SFPUC / SFMTA below.

Do not arrive before your designated dismissal time.

Do not sit in the pick up line between the K-2 pick up and the 3-8 pick up times. Loop around the block or park in the neighborhood to pick up students at both dismissal times.

Dear SVDP Parent community,

SFPUC has procured a permit with the SFMTA on a new traffic pattern for drop-off / pick up.

This includes a NO LEFT TURN onto Green .

SFPUC communication:

• Due to emergency repair work happening on Fillmore and Green streets, there has been an increase in the amount of traffic on Steiner Street during school drop off and pick-up times.
• To alleviate this traffic, a temporary change to driving patterns on Steiner Street will be implemented during school drop-off and pick-up times ONLY.
• Beginning October 10 , northbound traffic on Steiner Street (coming from Vallejo Street) will no longer be able to turn left on to Green Street.
• To access the white passenger loading zone in front of the school, we ask that parents approach Green Street from the north (coming from Union Street) on Steiner Street, where you will then be able to make a right hand turn to the pick-up/drop-off area.
• A flagger will be in place to assist with directing school traffic.
• Please try to load/unload as quickly as possible to prevent traffic from backing up onto Steiner Street.
• This temporary change will be in place until work has been completed on Fillmore and Green streets, which is currently expected to be in mid-November.

Dear Parents,

Congratulations!! Through your support and participation our Book Fair was an overwhelming success! As a result, 65 books were purchased for the teachers from their "Wish Lists". Through incentives and book profit we received $650 worth of books for the library and classrooms. Our cash profit was $1605. Also, due to your kindness in our All for Books Program, we raised $130 and were able to purchase 20 books for St. Peter Elementary School in San Francisco. In addition, Scholastic Books will donate $130 worth of books to their charities.

To those parents who sent money with their children so they could purchase books, to those parents who set up an eWallet account for their children, to those parents who came to our Book Fair (some daily) to help their children select books, and to those parents who so generously bought "Wish List" books for their children's classrooms and donated to the All For Books Program ---- WE SAY THANK YOU!

To the participants of the “Guess the Candy” contest and to the winners – Alex Leschin, 1st grade, Owen Clauss, 4th grade and Savvy Scala, 6th grade ---WE SAY THANK YOU!

To Ms. Pini, who suggested the gym lobby, after finding out that Scholastic could not deliver the fair into the school - WE SAY THANK YOU!

To Jenifer Spinale, for coming back from her volleyball game on Friday night to help me finish setting up the book fair – WE SAY THANK YOU!

All SVDP students, families, and friends are invited to attend Fall Fest, a spectacular evening of bounce. The SVDP gym will feature 4 amazing bounce houses and the return of the 20 ft. Mega Slide.

The snack bar will feature hot dogs, nachos, chips, desserts, and drinks.

Wristbands (see flyer) will be sold prior to the event and wristbands and snack bar tickets will be sold in the gym on Friday night.

Those of you 21 and over are invited to join us in the Viking lounge for a libation or two. The ever-popular Spin and Win game will also be played in the lounge.

As you depart Fall Fest, please be sure to stop by the gym office for your treat bag.

We hope to see everyone at Fall Fest.

We are so excited about our auction this year and need your help. We are working to collect donations early to ensure we have a great list of items from everyone in the school. Think of the relationships you have and any special experiences or tangible donations you could help curate. We would love Trips, Sports Connections, Gift Certificates, Memorabilia, Vacation Homes, Chef Experiences, Art, Wine…we accept it all! We want to get as many great items as possible to build large unique packages.
