Letter from the Principal
May 9, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians of Dunstan Middle School Students,
Thank you again for your support this week! Here are some exceedingly positive activities and events that occurred here this week.
The long-awaited mural was started at the front entrance! This mural was designed by our students in partnership with an artist from the Lakewood Cultural Center. PTA contributed funds and kids are working alongside artists to install the mural!
We added more plants to the front garden beds. These were donations from a staff member. Some students offered to help us install them so they worked with our Facility Manager to install the new plants.
Today we held our 1st Parade of Graduates! The graduating class from GMHS walked through the halls today while all students and staff applauded and congratulated them! Their graduation is next Friday at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Visiting is an excellent way for them to revisit their school prior to this occasion!
Today we held the 8th Grade Dance to honor our 8th Grade students! This event was planned and hosted by our 70 WEB leaders. Planning for this event requires lots of work in advance and coordination with the high school who loans us decorations from After Prom! Thank you to our WEB Coordinators and Leaders!
To support our Technology Student Association who are trying to raise funds to take a handful of students to Tennessee this summer for a competition, we had a hat day on Thursday and on Friday parents could purchase donuts for Advise classes. Thank you to PTA who backfilled and purchased donuts for the remainder of the school - so all classes had donuts! The funds from these events will go towards sending students to the national competition.
Thank you in advance to the 8th Grade parents who are supporting the upcoming BBQ lunch for our students! This is the first time we have held a BBQ lunch to honor our 8th graders. Parents are graciously coming with their grills to cook for the students next week.
This is a great time of year! Please join me in honoring our students who are continuing to engage in learning, working hard, and enjoying the end of a school year together!
Respectfully,
Jen Pennell

Older siblings of current Rooney students will be asked to have a student ID or verification using Infinite Campus to pick up their wristband if they plan on attending. Please note that this event is exclusively for current Rooney Ranch families, and individuals without a wristband will be asked to leave.
