Mission: WE WILL LEAD
Learn each day

Car Rider Line Reminder - Left Turn Lane
Please remember that our car rider line queues on 2854 on the school side of the street and turns in the right turn lane. Please do not use the left turn lane to try to enter the car rider line, as this blocks buses trying to get to the bus ramp. If you are coming from that direction you will need to go past the school and make a u-turn.
Watch D.O.G.S. Sign-up Info
The Watch DOGS sign up genius for this semester will be sent to those who have turned in both the Watch DOGS form and district background check. Please only sign up for ONE day- we want to be able to give everyone who would like to participate the opportunity.

Click the photo or button above to go directly to the school's order page. Or enter the school code LONMON on the homepage. Each package is specially curated with exactly what your child's teacher has requested- including name brands- in one convenient package that will be delivered directly to Lone Star with your child's name on it! We've also negotiated discounts with this vendor that save families up to $25 per pack on some grade levels (versus last year's costs). The more packages we purchase the bigger our collective negotiating power for discounts, so please take a moment to check them out!
Stowe's Sticky Notes
As we enter the final turn of the school year, I just want to say thank you to all of our families for another great year! When you return to Lone Star next year, our remodeling and reconstruction should make LSE feel brand new! Be sure to signup for a badge for awards for each day you may need one.
You will not need a visitor's badge for field day unless you need to use the restroom, as stations will be outside. We ask that we do not have lunch visitors on this day as we will likely not have enough space. The last day to eat with your child at lunch will be Monday, May 19.
Students are completing their End of Year screener and diagnostic tests in Reading and Math. We're excited to share the growth that they have made this school year and will be sending reports home after we have completed our End of Year data meetings.
Information about pre-ordering school supplies for next year has been sent home with students, and a button with a link to purchase them is above. We have contracted a new company this year Pala School Supplies and have negotiated lower prices for our families with some grades discounted $25 dollars from last year's rates (and that doesn't include inflation!). Your orders also will ship free directly to the school and will come in a reusable box labeled specifically for your child. We hope that you will enjoy this convenience and savings!

AP's Notes
Regular and timely attendance is essential for student success. Recently, we’ve noticed a significant increase in tardies and early departures schoolwide. This trend impacts instructional time and can lead to gaps in learning that are difficult to recover.
Our district policy emphasizes the importance of attendance:
- 10 tardies or early departures: Parents will receive an official notification letter.
- 15 tardies or early departures: The student will be required to complete one hour of credit recovery, either before or after school.
- Every additional 5 tardies or early departures: Another hour of credit recovery will be assigned.
We kindly ask for your support in reversing this trend by ensuring your child arrives on time and stays until the end of the school day. Together, we can create a positive and productive learning experience for all students! Thank you for your partnership.
Nurse's Notes
Lone Star Families,
All medications and supplies will need to be picked up from the nurse’s office by 4:00 on May 23, 2025. Any medications/supplies left in the clinic after 4:00 on May 23, 2025 will be properly disposed of. We are unable to keep any medications or supplies during the summer months. We appreciate your understanding with this matter.
Thank you!
Nurse Monica
Arrival and Dismissal Notes
Do NOT park in a handicap space for any amount of time unless you have a handicap sticker. We have families that need to use these spaces.
If you are parking and not using the car rider line, you must walk your children into the vestibule. Students can only be dropped off on the car rider line.
If you arrive after 8:15am, you will need to park in the parking lot and escort your children inside for a tardy pass. Students may not be dropped off at the curb.
Transportation changes can be made through PikMyKid up until 2pm each day. Click on the calendar to update your dismissal method. It's always a good idea to let the teacher know via email/dojo/bloomz just in case.
The last time to check out a student early is 3:00pm. If you have an emergency, please contact the front office.
School ends each day 3:40pm and dismissal begins at that time. Please keep these times and the time it takes to dismiss all students in mind as you register students for extra-curricular activities.
At dismissal, if you need to buckle a child into a seat for car rider, after your child is safely in the car, please pull forward into a visitor parking spot so that you can safely buckle in your child and keep our line moving.
Updated Snack Procedures from Child Nutrition
The MISD Child Nutrition department has updated the number and grade spans for snacks to be consistent across all MISD Elementary campuses. This means that technically Kindergarten students could purchase an ice cream every day. In the past we had limited lower grades to just one day per week.
If you need to place a restriction on your child's lunch account so that they aren't charging a snack (or two!) every day, please reach out to our cafeteria manager, Erica Cedillo, at erica.cedillo@misd.org.
