Branch Rickey was having an experiment called the Rickey’s Noble Experiment. That is where an African American plays for a national baseball team. Branch Rickey was trying to bring African Americans into white baseball teams.

Branch Rickey was trying to make African Americans feel accepted. Branch Rickey was trying to help one of the guys who he coached by telling him being black doesn’t matter. He stood up for the person he coached by telling him they could change the conditions.
