Last Friday, Salford Hills took time to celebrate positive student behavior and also celebrate our core values of being Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Learners! Students who showed positive behavior and demonstrated our Core Values, were able to take part in many fun games during our Spirit Assembly.

**Correction to the Prize & Awards Categories: 2 rubber pencils are no longer offered as prizes.** Additionally, if your child sends in 7 or more labels, they will earn a bonus entry to be selected to participate in the Special Assembly!

In order to have up to date contact information for all families, please complete Back to School Information review details below:

• In order to ensure proper communication with parents, it is critical that we have current contact information on record. Updates to mailing address information must be presented in person at the Souderton Area School District Registration Office. Updates to phone numbers and e-mail address information must be provided in writing to your child(ren)'s school.

• Please complete and return the Back-to-School 2024-2025 Information Review, available at the link below, for each of your children that attend Souderton Area School District. The review includes required policy and procedure agreements, as well as important weather-related and health information.

Completed forms should be returned to your child’s school no later than Tuesday, August 27th, 2024.

In preparation for your child's use of a 1-to-1 device in the 2024-2025 school year, please complete the Mobile Device Use Agreement and pay the device protection fee. Please see the details below.

1-to-1 EQUIPMENT: STUDENT DEVICES/CHARGERS/CASES

COMPLETE AGREEMENT / PAY FEE
Each year, the student/parent mobile device use agreement must be completed, and the device protection fee must be paid, via one of the methods below.

• Option 1 - Complete agreement and pay fee online.
  *Note: If you have never paid through Pay Online/RevTrak, you will need to create an account.
  
• Option 2 - Print agreement and make payment in-person: Complete and sign the Student/Parent Agreement (English | Spanish | Vietnamese). Please send the signed agreement and payment for the device fee to school with your child.

Devices will be distributed to students during the first week of school.

Please complete the below information if you choose to pick up your child(ren) as a daily car rider. A car rider once or twice can be handled with a simple note to the office on the morning of the change.
Upon completing this information, you will receive a school-issued name placard for each person listed. The name placard must be placed on the driver side dashboard, so it is visible through the front windshield of your vehicle. Children will only be allowed to leave in vehicles with school-issued name tags. If you do not have the placard, you will be asked to pull forward to physically sign out your child.

Please join the Home & School Association at our next meeting! It is a great opportunity to meet other parents, learn about HSA events and discover different ways to get involved and volunteer. Bring your ideas, concerns, or questions to the Board and allow the kids to play since childcare is always provided. We hope you'll join us in kicking off a great school year!

The HSA invites you to volunteer at Salford Hills this year! The HSA helps coordinate volunteers for classroom activities, social events, school events, etc. As a volunteer, you are welcome to serve as much or as little as you wish. For example, you can volunteer to help during a specific event, lead a committee, help out in your child's classroom and more. There are so many ways to serve Salford Hills and we would love to connect you with opportunities that would be a good fit for you and your family. In order to be contacted regarding these opportunities, you must join our volunteer list by filling out the form below (you must fill this out each year). There is no commitment by joining the volunteer list. By signing up, you will simply join our list to be notified of events needing volunteers and other opportunities to get involved. Thank you for helping serve our students, families, teachers, and staff at Salford Hills!

Each classroom at Salford Hills has a buddy class. The older grades act as role models and leaders for the lower grades and often help with different classroom activities. Our buddy classes help to build mentorships and provide leadership opportunities for our students.

Below are 2nd and 4th grade buddies and kindergarten and 3rd grade buddies.

It's always fun to read with a partner! Students in 1st grade get to read books with partners, as well as, their own writing.

Our kindergarten students are taking part in creating art in their classrooms and also in the Art Room.

4th Grade is working on identifying parts of a plant and their vascular system.
