Math Moments
6th Grade
In 6th grade, students are practicing with rational numbers. See if you can apply that practice to this scenario. Here are the boiling points of certain elements in degrees Celsius. List the elements from least to greatest boiling points.
- Argon: -185.8
- Chlorine: -34
- Fluorine: -188.1
- Hydrogen: -252.87
- Krypton: -153.2
7th Grade
In 7th grade, students are working with triangles and angles. To find an unknown angle measure, sometimes it is helpful to write and solve an equation that represents the situation. Here, line L is perpendicular to line M. Find the value of X and W.
.
8th Grade
In 8th grade, students are learning about exponents and powers of 10. In the diagram, the medium rectangle is made up of 10 small squares. The large square is made up of 10 medium rectangles. How could you represent the large square as a power of 10? If each small square represents 10^2, then what does the medium rectangle represent? The large square?
