• Tololwa M. Mollel, an Arusha Maasai from Tanzania is a well known author, dramatist and storyteller, who has written sixteen books and several plays as well as stories that he created or adapted for performance. Tololwa presents in a storytelling fashion, often using music to support the story.

Did you know that 80% of children’s learning is visual, it is essential to emphasize the importance of scheduling an eye examination for all school-aged children, especially for kindergarten students as they begin their in-school learning years. Early detection and intervention can significantly impact a child's educational journey.

Did you know that Alberta Health covers the eye exams and the Eye See, I Learn program provides free eyeglasses to those kindergarten students who are found to need eyeglasses. See the brochure linked below for more information:

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! All current families should have received an email notification with instructions for re-registration. If you haven’t seen it, please check your inbox (and junk folder) or visit our website for detailed registration information: Registration Process Information.

We encourage you to complete your registration early, as several schools in our division are nearing or already at capacity. Securing your spot now ensures a smooth transition into the upcoming school year.

All BK registrations received by March 19 will be entered to win a $50 Sobeys gift card (the draw will be made on March 20)! So hurry and get your registrations in!

On Saturday March 1st, from 6 to 9pm, Friends of BK will be hosting a private ski night at Sunridge in partnership with Friends of Holy Family, J.J. Nearing & Neil M Ross. This is a great opportunity for families to connect with friends at other schools in our communities and have a fun family night!

Tickets are limited and will be $30 each.

- Ticket price will include access to instructors, rentals, and use of the hill (tubing or ski hill) for the evening from 6 to 9pm. Terrain Park NOT included.

Tickets will be on a first come first serve basis and NO REFUNDS will be issued. Physical tickets will go home with students a week before the event and must be brought to the hill to exchange for lift passes. Any additional proceeds will go directly to FOBK & School Council initiatives.

A hot food concession will be available to families for the evening. The concession items are not included in the ticket cost; all items will be subject to Sunridge pricing.
