Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope
As Pilgrims of hope, builders of peace:
You have called us to be Christ's body in this world,
and bring Good News to all who are longing for the Kingdom.
In this Year of Jubilee,
give us courage to walk as pilgrims of hope and people of peace.
Through Christ who is The Way
Amen
Principal's Message
Good afternoon Sacred Heart School families and welcome to 2025. Despite the sweltering start to the term, our students have hit the ground running building relationships with their new teachers and classmates, and familiarising themselves with their classroom and learning environment. We welcome a number of new families to our community and embrace the new friendship opportunities that the diversity of relationships bring.
Opening School Year Mass and Leadership Badges
Yesterday, we gathered in our Sacred Heart Parish Church as a whole school to celebrate Mass. As a Catholic community, the celebration of the Eucharist at Mass is a core part of our faith and identity, and Fr Stephen implored our students to have a heart like Jesus' Sacred Heart. He also quoted the late Pope Benedict who said: "The world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness" and this powerful message was passed on to our Year 6 Leaders as they received their blessed Ministry Badges for 2025. The original Greek meaning of the word ministry is 'to serve' and we hope our year 6 leaders courageously take up their leadership roles this year with authenticity and selflessness.
Parking
Thank you for your patience and understanding with our school parking. Having met with Fr Stephen, he has offered the vacant block next to the Parish Church as another parking option for our families. This adds to the front of the ECE building, the bottom car park, Kiss and Drop (no parking), and the southern end of Sculpture Park. A reminder that we are reserving the upper basketball court for our Pre-K, Kindergarten, Pre-Primary, and Playgroup families to safely enter the school grounds. For large school events, such as the EduDance Concert etc, the lower oval will be opened as a further parking option. In all situations, please drive and park safely and legally, considering the safety of our students and broader community members.
Parent Information Night
Hopefully, you were able to attend our Parent Information Evening earlier this week, meet your child's class teacher and receive an overview of the year ahead. Your child's teacher is your 'port-of-call' for any academic, social, pastoral or general matters. They will know your child best and have further insight into the context, events and relationship dynamics within the classroom. For complex matters, email is not a preferred form of communication, but rather a phone call or face-to-face meeting.
Code of Conduct
Please see attached below the Sacred Heart School Code of Conduct. This applies to all members of school community: students, staff, and parents/guardians. It outlines the expected behaviour and standards of all community members and ensures the safety and wellbeing of all students within our care.
Lastly, a special congratulations to Emery (Yr 5) and Leif (PP) who welcomed baby Maia over the holidays.
Enjoy your weekend ahead and God bless.

Sacred Heart School Social Worker - Hilary Campos
Welcome to all students and their families, whether returning or joining our Sacred Heart School Community for the first time. I look forward to being of service, support and help in my role as School Social Worker each Tuesday term time for 2025.
As a registered facilitator for Circle of Security - a series of workshops for parents and caregivers, I would like to offer the opportunity to you to attend these workshops here at Sacred Heart (subject to sufficient interested parents/caregivers).
At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.
Using the COSP™ model developed by the Circle of Security originators, can help parents and care-givers to:
· Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
· Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
· Enhance the development of their child's self esteem
· Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

Students with Medical Conditions
It is important that if your child has or has developed a medical condition that you update any changes that have occurred. Once you inform us, if there is more information that we need we will let you know.
Administration of Medication
A reminder that if we are required to give out medication, the relevant form must be completed at the office. We are not able to administer any medication without the form completed and signed by the parents or carers.
Student Late Arrival
It is necessary for parents to sign their child/ren in at the Office if they arrive late to school - after 8.50am. If your child/ren are going to be collected early parents/carers are required to come to the Office and sign them out.
In both cases, a green slip will be given to you for handing to the relevant teacher.
