I hope you had a great weekend! We will be doing our 2nd iReady diagnostic of the year this week and will finish up next week.

I have exciting news to share about the shade cover on our playground! We were able to put some money that was leftover from our Boosterthon funds last year toward half of the cost of the shade. We applied for the School Initiated Project funding from the District, and they are going to match our contribution so we can purchase the shade! Thank YOU for your continued support of our school, which makes things like this possible!

Our joint SAC and PTO will holiday meeting will be on Monday, 12/11 at 3pm in the Primary media center. You are invited to attend! For those who wish to participate, please bring a white elephant gift - $10 or less and/or a treat to share!

NEHS is hosting a collection drive for the homeless shelters in our community. They are collecting the following items: travel sized toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, tissues, hand sanitizer, wipes and sunscreen. Also, new or gently used beanie hats, socks, jackets, drawstring backpacks and blankets.

Time has finally arrived to begin science fair experiments.

If your child has completed the hypothesis and wrote an idea of what the outcome might be, they are ready. A log check was due December 1. Hopefully your child is continuing to update the log.

The next check for data on the experiments is due on January 11th. We can't wait to see what your child discovers about science!

For safety reasons, please do not send your child to school with a hot beverage. As the weather cools off, we know many families like to stop for hot chocolate or coffee drinks in the morning. However, all hot beverages should be finished before arriving on campus.

Our Lost and Found is VERY full right now! Please encourage your child to check for any lost items including sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles and lunchboxes! Any items still remaining 12/22 will be donated over the Winter Break.

The last day of ASP for this semester will be Thursday, December 14. ASP will resume on Tuesday, January 16.
