Our school receives Title I funding, which allows us to offer additional resources and support to our students. To ensure that we are meeting the needs of all our students and families, we kindly ask you to take a few minutes to complete the Title I Parent and Family Engagement Survey. The Celebrate Freedom Foundation STEM event will be held on September 11, 2024 at Harbison West. We are excited to bring this event to our students as an introduction to STEM careers and to honor the U.S. military - past, present and future. Students will explore different military grade vehicles and equipment while learning from veterans. We are very thankful for South Carolina Aeronautics for sponsoring this event for Harbison West.

We have several families who requested car rider tags that have not picked them up. If you plan to utilize the car rider line on early release days, please make sure to stop by the office to pick up your 2024-2025 car rider tag. As a reminder, Wings for Kids does not operate on early release days. Our first early release day is Thursday, September 19th. Car rider tags may be picked up during front office hours with a picture ID (7:15am-4pm). Please contact the school at 803-476-3800 with any questions.

Per our student/parent handbook: A written note, medical excuse or electronic excuse form must be submitted for each absence.

Save time and gas by submitting your excuses online using this link - Online Excuse Form. You can upload medical excuses on this form, so no need to make a special trip to school. A link to this form is also at the bottom of each school letter and at the top of our website homepage.

If you prefer, medical excuses may also be faxed to the school at 803-476-3820.

Ms. Vaughn is an exceptional teacher and person. She handles everything with composure. Even with a personal injury to start off the year, she hasn't let that slow her down or affect her teaching at all. We are all so lucky to have her at HWES!
