Thank you for joining us for Multicultural Night! A special thanks to Mrs. Elkhatib for organizing an incredible evening for our community! Thank you to Student Council and everyone who supported our recent food drive for Loaves and Fishes! Your generosity will make a difference for many families in our community.

💻 iReady Spring Benchmarking - Begins Tuesday!

This week students will take the Spring i-Ready ELA Benchmark assessments. These tests, which we administer three times a year, help teachers better understand each student's academic growth and needs. Students are encouraged to do their best — a good night's sleep and a positive mindset make a big difference, too! We appreciate your support!

🎒 Registration for the 2025–2026 school year opens on May 1st!

Our goal is to have every student either registered or to hear from families who are moving by the last day of school (June 3rd). No fees or medical/dental forms are needed until the fall! Early registration helps our district plan class sizes and allocated teachers. Thank you for helping us prepare for a strong start next year!

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up May 5 - 9th! Please SIGN UP now to help with planning, donations, and ensuring a wonderful week. A daily outline with a sneak peek of the fun things planned is attached. Send a Thank You Note to a Longwood Teacher! Please come to the school on Sunday May 4th to help “Chalk the Walk.”

🦁 Fun with the Lions!

Fun With The Lions will be on May 10th from 11am to 1pm. There will be engaging activities, including a FOAM party, games, and food available for purchase from local food truck vendors. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, and we can't wait to see you there!

🍎 Our next PTA meeting will be on May 13th at 7pm. We will be voting on our annual Gifts To School; please attend if you want to offer your input!

⛅🌻Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time for students to join the Longwood Walking Bus!

With the warmer weather, fresh air, and friends to walk with, it’s a great way to start the day strong!

🌟 Why join?
✅ Participating students have reduced on average absences by 50% and late arrivals by 75%!
✅ It’s a fun, active, and social way to get to and from school.
✅ Longwood Staff ensure a safe and supportive walk each morning and afternoon.

Students are picked up and dropped off at designated stops in the Longwood Neighborhood.

We're thrilled to add new students each day!

Daily participation is not required, call the office to share your child's arrival/dismissal schedule.

General Information:

You must be a legal district resident to enroll in IPSD
Your child should be five years old on or before September 1, 2025
The school day is from 9:05 – 3:35, 9:15 – 3:35 on Wednesday

Registration officially opens May 1st and this presentation includes an information sheet to get on our mailing list! If on the list, families will receive information about exciting upcoming events, including some just for our future kindergarten learners!

Health Examination and Immunization Requirements:

Proof of the required state of Illinois physical examination and immunizations needs to be submitted by October 15, 2025
Oral health examination needs to be submitted by May 15, 2026
Vision examination needs to be submitted by October 15, 2025
Health Forms may be found on our district website

Indian Prairie School District’s online registration will open May 1, 2025.

Have a child who will be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2025? Apply for Indian Prairie School District's Pre-school Program! Additional support services such as Speech or Occupational Therapy may be available, too, for students eligible after screening. Fee waivers and financial assistance options are available.
