News This Week....
I hope everyone is well and eagerly anticipating the warmer temperatures coming our way!
Our classroom has been very busy this past week.
We are moving into our math unit on fractions starting tomorrow! Fractions are a HUGE portion of the math EOG. Not just identifying fractions but putting them on a number line, adding them, multiplying them, finding equivalent fractions and identifying patterns. Whew! That's quite a bit ~ please look for papers coming home and encourage your child to get on the Kahn Academy account at home and go to the fraction lessons. Even ten minutes a night makes a difference!
We are going to start learning about text structure during our ELA block and we will continue persuasive writing.
In social studies we are still learning about Native American tribes in North Carolina.
Thank you to all the generous parents who have sent in snacks. If you have ever seen the snickers commercials "You aren't you when you are hungry" then you will understand the depth of my thanks!
Students are still in need of headphones. If anyone can donate a pair that would be wonderful!
Please feel free to contact me with concerns or questions. I will be happy to meet or talk with you!
