POP POP POP ART!! This week was all about making art that models Andy Warhol's Pop Art style! Kindergarteners worked on starting their hand art! They are so cute and they will be a way to capture their precious hand size! 1st graders finished their buffalo pop art and started their next technique, textures. They listened to the book Sticks by Diane Alber! It is a story about a popsicle who has melted as he figures out his new role as only a stick! 1st graders are creating pop art inspired from this book! 2nd graders art project was to mimic Andy Warhol's Flower piece! I think they nailed it! 3rd graders finished their delicious cakes by learning about shading and then they were introduced to Warhol. 4th graders learned about Warhol and started brainstorming about their next project using foil printing! 5th graders finished up their pop art piece! They were able to be so creative with this project and I loved seeing how their personalities shined throughout it! 6th graders were introduced to Roy Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein was a famous American pop artist during the 1960s who used Ben Day dots in this artwork, especially in comic books. Ben Day dots are repeating dots that show shading! 6th graders started sketching their piece where they will be using Ben Day dots!
I need some help from you all. If you could send empty, rinsed soup, veggies, etc cans (15.25 oz) to school, I would appreciate it! I have a project in mind for our 3rd graders! Thank you for your help!
