Note from Mr. Rustad: Time to Spring Ahead at Kennedy!
Kennedy Families,
Winter is quickly coming to an end and spring is almost here. It has been a very busy month at Kennedy - wax museums, science fairs, PTO events and conferences. On top of all of that, the students and teachers at Kennedy have been working really hard on academics to ensure that all Cubs reach their full potential. Our 3rd through 5th graders are ramping up for the MCAs that will happen in April. Our kindergarten through 2nd grade students have also been busy working on their reading and math skills.
It is almost Spring Break (March 23-28) but before that happens we have our annual Leprechaun Bingo event. This Kennedy tradition is a favorite for all students and we look forward to doing it again on March 22. Please check the note below about how you can contribute to the great event.
Parents, thank you for making this such a great winter at Kennedy. It has been so awesome to see many of you at the school and PTO events and at conferences. We value you all and your partnership with us as we work to make Kennedy the best school possible for all students. As we say in our school cheer, "Together we are Kennedy!"

Pi and Career Night
The Kennedy PTO offers family nights once a month to gather as a school community. For March, the Kennedy Cub families celebrated Pi Day by showing up for some pizza pie, pie, and a chance to learn about many great careers!
Cubs learned what it is like to be a firefighter, baker, actress, investigator, school counselor, nurse, ASL interpreter, police officer, and more!
5th Grade Wax Museum
Fifth graders at Kennedy researched the lives of individuals who have shown grit during their lifetime for their wax museum.
Students and parents were invited to the wax museum for a day of learning about historical figures.

SCHOOLWIDE TITLE 1 SERVICES AT KENNEDY
Kennedy is a schoolwide Title 1 School. In the past, Title 1 funds were available to
provide additional support to students who qualified based on their test scores. As a schoolwide Title 1 school we are now able to utilize those resources more flexibly to support any students that would benefit. This fits wonderfully with our small group instruction blocks when students receive acceleration or enrichment based on their specific needs. For further information, contact Steve Rustad, principal at Kennedy Elementary.
Important Upcoming Dates
- Leprechaun Bingo - March 22
- Spring Break - March 23-28
