Starting this school year, Chrysalis MS will be a PowerUp campus. This means that every student, 6th thru 8th, will be able to have their own school laptop for a yearly non-refundable fee of $25. The agreement below must be filled out and returned the first week of school to your child's homeroom teacher. Laptops will be used on a regular basis for classroom instruction and will be considered a school supply.
To pick up a laptop, students must pay the $25 laptop fee. Use SchoolPay to pay online with a credit card. Further instructions on how to pay this way will be sent home later on.
Additional Fees:
The yearly $25 Power Up fee is NOT insurance. Students are responsible for any damage done to their laptop. If a student's laptop is damaged, they will need to pay a $25 fee to have it replaced per item damaged. Damage Includes: Broken/Cracked Screen, Missing Keys, Damage to Charging Port, Damage to LCD Cover or Hinges, Water/Liquid Damage and Cracked Mainboard.
For excessive or intentional damage, student will pay the actual cost of repairs.
Charger replacement (lost/ stolen charger, damage to charger): $25.
Lost Laptops:
If a student loses their laptop, they will need to complete a Police report with the campus Police or HPD. Once the report has been filed, student will pay an additional $25 Power Up fee and be issued another laptop. Students who lose their laptop off campus will need to file a report with HPD, and bring a copy to the Tech Room before a replacement will be issued. HPD Online Report
