Bogota Public School

The first day of school for all Bogota students is almost here—Thursday, September 5th! Be on the lookout for important information from your school about start times and procedures. A reminder that on On September 5th and 6th, all Bogota Public Schools will be on a Single Session schedule, with the school day wrapping up at 12:40 pm.

A NEW application must be sent in every school year. You will have 30 school days from the start of school to apply. For school year 2024-2025, applications need to be received by October 18, 2024, or any previous school year benefits will expire. Any student who does not have a current year application (an application dated July 1, 2024 or later) on file will be removed from receiving benefits and must begin paying for their breakfast and/or lunches. Remember you only need one (1) application per household!

The 2024-2025 lunch applications are now available. We encourage parents to fill out an online application at payschoolscentral.com for a quicker response. A paper application is also available for download at: Meals Application . Any questions, please contact Carla at 201-441-4800 ext. 1006.

Current Progress:

After a comprehensive process with the DEP, we’re thrilled to report that the field project is now in full swing! If you happen to drive by, you’ll notice substantial progress, including the removal of the fence that once divided the two properties. This is paving the way for a unified, expansive area that everyone will enjoy in the future.

The CTE building is also advancing smoothly. All permits have been secured, and the building has been fully gutted in preparation for work to begin this September.

Recently Completed:

We’re excited to share that the bathroom renovations have passed final inspections and are ready for the start of the school year. These newly upgraded restrooms go beyond a simple cosmetic refresh—they’re a key part of our broader commitment to ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our students and staff. The modernized facilities meet current standards and are designed to better serve our entire school community.

Looking Ahead:

• Elementary School Reconfiguration: Plans are underway to reconfigure our elementary schools for the 2025-2026 school year. This initiative will establish distinct lower and upper elementary schools, allowing us to better align our educational programs with the developmental needs of our students.

• Infrastructure Upgrades: Our focus on maintaining safe and modern facilities remains strong. Upcoming projects include essential electrical upgrades across all schools.

• Facilities Enhancements: We’re in the final stages of planning for significant upgrades, including a comprehensive overhaul of the High School auditorium and media center, as well as the expansion of the Bixby gym. Construction is set to begin in the summer of 2025.
