WEEKLY RECAP WEEKLY RECAP

It was a busy and exciting week at Hills!

We kicked things off by celebrating Educator and School Nurse Appreciation Week. We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated teachers and staff, and we're so grateful to our amazing PTA for helping us show our appreciation.

Cinderella, the Musical wrapped up last Saturday, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder of our talented students. Huge shoutouts to Ms. Opheim, Mrs. Ferguson, Ms. Smith, Ms. Thompson, and Ms. Connor for making the production such a success!

Finally, a big celebration is in orderโ€”our chronic absenteeism rate is down to 9.4%, below our goal of 10%! Thank you to our students, families, and teachers for your continued commitment.

Letโ€™s finish strong in these last two weeks!

  • 5/20 - 7th Grade MacBook Collection

  • 5/21 - 8th Grade MacBook Collection

EVENT FOR FEMALE ATHLETES - MAY 17 EVENT FOR FEMALE ATHLETES - MAY 17

Join us on the morning of Saturday, May 17th in the SME cafeteria for a special event connecting middle school and high school female athletes. High school athletes and head coaches from basketball, volleyball, swim and more, will be there to welcome and get to know our incoming athletes. The goal is to foster community, share advice, and provide insight into the high school athletic experience.

As part of the event, weโ€™ll be assembling female hygiene kits for girls in Kenya attending the Hoops 4 Her camp this summer. Hoops 4 Her t-shirts will also be available for purchase to support the cause.

Service hours will be offered for participation, and families are warmly invited, especially those interested in connecting with coaches or learning more about high school sports opportunities.

Finish Strong, Feel Proud: How to End the Year on a High Note!

Staying focused in the last month helps boost your grades, build confidence, and show how much you've grown this year.

Push through the finish line with pride! ๐Ÿ’ฅ Staying focused now helps you end the year with strong grades and stronger confidence. Hereโ€™s why you should feel proud of yourself:

  • You stayed committed โ€” showing up every day shows responsibility and grit.

  • You didnโ€™t give up โ€” even when it got tough, you kept going.

  • You didnโ€™t miss out โ€” you were there for the lessons, the laughs, and the wins.

  • You earned it โ€” your hard work and presence helped you finish strong.

  • You set an example โ€” others notice when you show up and give your best.

  • You can say, โ€œI did it!โ€ โ€” being there every day is something to be proud of.

The last few weeks of school are a chance to show everything youโ€™ve learned. Stay sharp, stay present, and finish like a champ! Donโ€™t forget - WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!

JR BOARD CHECK PRESENTATIONS JR BOARD CHECK PRESENTATIONS

This week, our Junior Board members proudly presented donation checks to the nonprofit organizations they researched and visited over the past year. The organizations included Morning Glory, The Golden Scoop, Boys Grow, Uplift, Peteโ€™s Garden, and Amethyst Place. Through their participation in Junior Board, students gain firsthand experience in philanthropy and deepen their understanding of the vital work nonprofit organizations do in our community.
