The Eagle's Nest
Week of April 1, 2024
Happy Sunday Families!
We hope everyone has had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. We hope our Eagles are pumped and ready to finish the school year strong. Family Cheerleaders, please continue to support and cheer your Eagle on at home. April is packed with special events. April 1-5 is National Assistant Principals Week. We are encouraging families to write Mr. Bello a note to let him know how much we appreciate him. April is also Autism Awareness month and Month of the Military Child. We are asking that students wear blue on April 2nd to show support for Autism. Be on the look out for the Month of the Military Child spirit calendar.
We would like to remind families of our breakfast process. If your child would like to eat breakfast and they are a car rider they will need to be to school no later that 7:30am. At 7:45am, students that are in line, will get their breakfast and take it to their classroom to eat. Students eating in the cafeteria will need to be finished by 7:45am and students eating in their classroom will need to be finished by the end of morning announcements. This will help to ensure instruction is starting on time for all students and give students opportunities for morning learning opportunities. If a student comes in after the tardy bell they will get their breakfast and take it to the classroom.
This week is packed with lots of activities for our Eagles. On Wednesday, select students will be participating in the district Math Counts competition. Thursday, is Barnyard Bash/Title I night for our families. Please see the flyer below for more details. We ask students to dress up like a farmer or their favorite farm animal the night of Barnyard Bash. If your child is participating in the Barnyard Moosical, be on the look out for a form from your child's teacher and Mrs. Burford.
Looking ahead to the week of April 8, our students in 3rd-5th grade will be participating in NC CHECKINS. To help ensure they do their best, we ask they come to school well rested, eat a good breakfast, and bring their laptop charged. Remember no electronic devices are allowed this includes smart watches, phones, etc.). Wednesday, April 10 is an early release day for students. Please let your child's teacher know how they will be going home.
We will be starting our Apex Fundraiser on April 16. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. There will be nightly challenges and athletes will be on campus to work with students. The run is scheduled for April 25th. Please be on the look out for more information and tell friends and families to donate!
