TODAY: ASVAB Testing

Attention students (Grades 10-12): Pine Island High School will be offering the ASVAB test on Tuesday, April 15th at 8:15 a.m. in the Forum Room. The ASVAB is an aptitude test that measures strengths and predicts future academic and occupational success in the military. Students interested in taking the test must sign up using this form by Friday, April 11. This can be a great opportunity for students looking at the military and/or students who would like to learn more about how their individual strengths and interests may translate into the workforce. Testing will take 1.5 to 3 hours and will be followed by a test results and career exploration session during Prowl that same day. Please reach out to Mrs. Hoeppner with questions.

Softball Results - 4/14

The Panthers won a close one last night against the Triton Cobras. The score was 0-0 going into the 4th. Jenna “Jackhammer” Schleusner led off the inning with a walk followed by back to back walks from Jaedyn “Jack of all Trades” Voeltz, and Peyton “Bam Bam” Barnett. With 1 out, Ruby “Rock n Roll” Severson put down a beautiful RBI bunt to plate Mallory “Motor ‘in” Mohlke (courtesy runner for Jenna). Evie “Ninja” Nold had an RBI single to plate Peyton to bring in the only 2 runs of the game. Peyton “Bam Bam” Barnett also had a single in the 6th. Jaedyn “Jack of all Trades” Voeltz went the distance on the mound and struck out 12.

Softball Results -4/11

Friday’s game was a tough loss for the Lady Panthers. Our 3 hits came from “Tenacious” Teagan Barnett who scored our only run, and Peyton “Bam Bam” Barnett, and Evie “Ninja” Nold. Nothing we did or didn’t do went our way. Sometimes, that is the nature of the game, but the beauty is…we can step out on the field again another day. The lessons we learn from the game carry with us a lifetime.

Community Service Hours

We will be adding a Community Service Hour requirement to our Honors Pass opportunity. Along with the current requirements, students will need to complete a minimum of 3 hours of service at an approved location each quarter. These hours will be collected and confirmed prior to earning the Honors Pass for the following quarter. This will go into effect first quarter of the 2025-2026 school year. Students will be able to complete these hours this quarter, or over the summer. We will share more information during the State of the School assembly on Friday, April 11.

The Mantorville Theatre is having a student-led show this summer. The show will run August 22-24. Everything will be run by students, with the help/supervision of adults. Our student director is Cooper Worden (he will be a sophomore at Kasson-Mantorville this fall).

Auditions for the student show will be on Monday, May 5 & Tuesday, May 13 at 7 pm. All middle to high school aged students are welcome. We will be looking for students to help with costumes, set building, and lights/tech in addition to actors and actresses.

Student School Board Rep for 2025-2026

The School Board is seeking student representatives for next year. They are seeking 1 junior and 1 senior representative. Please CLICK HERE for more information and to apply. The deadline to apply is April 11, 2025.

Good Samaritan Program

  • The Good Samaritan program is created to help recognize our students who go out of their way to help others. Here are the details.

  • Students who are spotted doing something extraordinary to help others, will be given a “ticket”. Each ticket has a number on it.

  • Students who receive one of these tickets from a staff member will need to turn the ticket in to Mr. Menk prior to the end of each sports season in order to be eligible to win the prize.

  • Each ticket recipient who returns the ticket to Mr. Menk will be added to a spreadsheet of eligible winners for that season.

  • Every season (Fall, Winter, and Spring), there will be a drawing for one winner of a Stanley water bottle.

The winner for the Winter season is McKenna Knudson. Congratulations, McKenna and thank you for being a good samaritan!
