On Monday we welcomed two new staff members to LPS. In our front office taking Mrs. York's place is April Hudson. Filling the vacancy for 3rd grade math and science is Anagha Nagaraj. Below is a little bit about them. I hope that you get to stop in the office and meet Ms. Hudson. Thank you for your support.
April Hudson:
I am originally from Windy City Chicago. I graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois with a B.S. in Social Services.
Shortly after college, I relocated to Texas to pursue a career as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines. I was blessed to fly eleven years, six of which were to International destinations.
After my career with American, I worked as a Marketing Coordinator for ALON USA, formally FINA Oil for 15 years. Then, as faith would have it, I changed careers and began working as an Office Administrator for Homeowners of America Insurance Company where I landed for almost 5 years. Through the years, I gained valuable experience in the Office Administration sector, but I never worked in a school setting. So, when the opportunity to work at Leadership Preparatory School arose, I felt compelled to apply because I love children, and I knew I would be a positive influence on them. I am certain of this because my grandson Carter says, “I am the greatest”!
I have a beautiful daughter Sierra (30 years old), a handsome grandson Carter (10 years old) and a feisty “fur-baby” Micah (10 Years old).
I enjoy spending Sunday dinners with my family, having brunch with my sorority sisters - Alpha Kappa Alpha, cooking, baking, DIY projects, Dallas Cowboys…ugh, watching movies, reading, theatre, travel, dancing and cuddling with Micah.
I am pleased to begin this new adventure with everyone at LPS.
Anagha Nagaraj:
Anagha received her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from India and began her career as a software professional. With a strong desire and passion to help children learn she changed her career by completing her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Pace University, New York. She has three years of experience as a classroom teacher. Her goal is to use her skills and abilities to create a positive environment for students to learn better and help every student learn. She is married and has a 3-year-old son.
