September is Suicide Prevention Month!
Hello, KHS families! In addition to Suicide Prevention Month, September is also Self-Care Awareness Month. As high school students, it can be difficult to manage social lives, academics, and all the expectations that adults around you may have. Self-care occurs when we engage in activities that contribute to our well-being, whether that be emotional, psychological, spiritual, social, or physical. Parents, please share some of the self-care tips and tricks below with your student (s):
- Listening to music
- Practicing gratitude
- Practicing mindfulness
- Working out
- Time with friends and/or family
- Mindful walks in nature
- Hiking
- Yoga
- Mediation
- Personal reflection
- Taking a break from social media
- Practice good sleeping habits
- Enjoy one of your favorite shows (in moderation)
Throughout the year, I will be offering many ways to practice self-care, including diving more deeply into some of the self-care practices listed above – so stay tuned to learn more! (:
