Clarification on the Backpack Use Change
Since our last message regarding our backpack use changes (see below) on June 27th, we've received questions on what will be and what will not be acceptable for laptop sleeves. It stated, "To address concerns about carrying Chromebooks, we will allow laptop sleeves as an option, but no laptop bags. You may choose to have one to help safely transport your Chromebook without the need for additional large bags."
Laptop sleeves are completely optional. If you choose to use one of these, it cannot have handles or bulky pockets, but must merely be a sleeve that may serve as additional protection for the Chromebook.

UPDATE - Backpack Use Change
Based on valuable feedback from our dedicated staff, we have made a decision regarding the use of backpacks in classrooms. Starting next school year, backpacks will no longer be allowed in classrooms, and students will be expected to use their lockers throughout the school day.
Since the pandemic, we allowed students to carry backpacks to ensure they had all necessary materials with them. While there have been benefits, such as easy access to Chromebooks and chargers and reduced hallway noise, several drawbacks have been identified. These include several safety issues, bulky backpacks causing tripping hazards in the classrooms, distractions from personal items like snacks and toys, and potential conflicts over belongings.
To address concerns about carrying Chromebooks, we will allow laptop sleeves as an option, but no laptop bags. You may choose to have one to help safely transport your Chromebook without the need for additional large bags.
By returning to locker use, we aim to create a safer and more organized learning environment. We understand that this change may require adjustments, and we are committed to supporting our students through this transition.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
