Happy Valentine's Day!! Despite the snow, we were able to celebrate Valentine's Day with all but one of our classes! MW 2s: we will recreate the Valentine's Day fun next week!!

In Music and Chapel, we met our Composer of the Month: Duke Ellington and listened to his "Take the A Train". We will also listen to some Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong this month as we celebrate jazz!!

In our February SHINE SESH, we learned about waiting our turn and accepting disappointment. We may have to wait for special things and sometimes its just not our turn and that's okay! Instead of saying "That's not Fair", we practiced saying "Oh well, maybe next time". We read "I'll Wait, Mr. Panda" and "Waiting is not Easy" by Mo Willems.

*each month, we have a schoolwide SHINE SESH centered around a social skill. In September, we learned our school rules and talked about staying safe in school. In October, we learned about personal space and when we hear "SPACE INVADERS" its a reminder to keep our hands and feet to ourselves. In November, we learned about manners and giving people our attention when speaking with them. In January, we talked about different ways to use our voices: whisper, speaking, shouting and singing and what is appropriate in different settings.

February tuition will run on Monday, February 17th. I purposely waited to see the effect of the storm on afterschool Enrichment. Registration fees for those attending GBP next year will be added to February tuition.

March Lunch Bunch and Enrichment sign up links will be sent out via Brightwheel on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30pm.

Wednesday and/or Thursday: Pancakes and Pajamas to celebrate P week at GBP! More information below!

Please remember to pull up as far as possible on Wirt Street during drop off and pick up. Also, please do not block the driveway to the left of the Wirt Street doors, we do not own that property. Lastly, please remember (and share with anyone else who may pick up your children): our Owls and Bees are in their classrooms until Noon. If you arrive before noon to pick up your Owls/Bees/siblings, please remain in your vehicle so you can pull up when other parents leave.

-2s and 3s pick up: 11:50am-12pm

-4s and siblings pick up: 12-12:15pm
