A Note From Mrs. Lenz...
The first week of school is in the books! What an incredible week of love and learning. I actually just told my staff that I cannot stop smiling ear to ear because what I witness in the walls of Beacon Tree is sheer magic! This week made me realize how much we thrive on your kiddo's smiles. They seriously brighten our world and are daily reminders of why we do what we do each day.
Next week will be our week of continuing to establish expectations, finding our baselines, and challenge our thinking. We are ready to meet our All-Stars where they are at and continue their paths of lifelong learning. It is now our turn to write the beginning of this chapter and set the stage for a year of academic, social, and emotional growth. We are looking forward to partnering with you in this educational journey!
With much love,
Mrs. Lenz
Crosswalk Volunteers
We are looking for two guardians who would love to volunteer to help us out by manning our two crosswalks before and after school. Duties would include:
*using stop sign to stop traffic for safe crossing
*have families wait until traffic stops for safe crossing
The times would be from 8:50-9:00 & 3:45-4:00. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Lenz at jena.lenz@uticak12.org and she will take the first two interested.
Devices on Busses
Please remember that students are not allowed to use their devices on the bus. If you could help us out and remind your children as well, we appreciate it.

Security Procedures
We are asking for your assistance to ensure that our security procedures during the school day are effective. As many of you know, our school has a security camera, intercom, and buzzer at the front entrance for use during the school day. To help us assist you when you would like to enter the school:
1. All guests must enter through the main office door
2. Please press the buzzer to speak with someone in the office
3. You will be asked to state your name and reason for visiting
4. Each time you come to the office you will be asked to show your photo ID into the security camera above the outside door and once again at the main office.
5. Office staff will assist you.
6. Guests must have an appointment to meet with a staff member during instructional hours.
In addition, we are asking you to not let any visitors in the door as you enter (and they come up behind you) or as you exit the building.
Finally, all exterior doors are to remain locked and secure daily. Teachers will not prop doors open and any door that is open is to have a staff member monitoring it at all times.
The teachers and staff are committed to student safety and security and we would like to thank you for your assistance in helping keep the students of Beacon Tree safe.
Birthday Celebrations at Beacon Tree
The teachers and staff at Beacon Tree support the recognition of a childβs birthday during the school day - it is an annual milestone in every childβs life. While there are many wonderful and creative ways to celebrate a childβs birthday in school, birthday celebrations at Beacon Tree will not include food treats. Instead, the focus will be on recognizing the day in a variety of special ways that do not include food treats. Some possibilities include:
- Β· Class sings βHappy Birthdayβ
- Β· Happy Birthday Recess/Gift
- Β· Morning βHappy Birthdayβ on monitors
- Β· Parent makes a donation of book to class library/read to class
- Β· Student reads favorite book to class
- Β· Non-Food treat bags for classmates
We do not accept deliveries on behalf of students (balloons, flowers, food items) Parents may drop off a special lunch (for their child only, not the class) or choose to take their child out to lunch on their special day. Your childβs teacher will have more information on how birthdays will be celebrated in the classroom. As educators, caregivers and loved ones we all want the best for our students. Thank you for joining us in giving students healthy opportunities to celebrate important events and achievements.
Breakfast Procedures
If your child is coming in for breakfast, they must enter through the main doors and proceed directly to the gym. Doors will open at 8:40. Please do not have your child enter at this time if they are not eating breakfast.

From the BTV
First BTV Meeting of the Year
Weβre trying something new and taking our first BTV meeting of the year on the road! Please join us on Thursday, September 12 at 7:00PM at Black Label Tavern. We have a room reserved just for us and will be providing appetizers, too!
We will present the β24-β25 budget for approval, review our proposed calendar of events for the year, discuss volunteer opportunities and open chairperson positions, and then open the floor for any new ideas or thoughts on ways to make this year extra special for our children.
After the meeting is over, you are more than welcome to stay and hang out! Perhaps open a tab for an adult beverage or two. Or simply stay until you know the coast is clear to not be on bedtime duty at home that night. π
We need to give them a headcount, so please signup here if you can join us!
