TMHS Core Values and Expectations
PBIS Program
Here at Trotwood-Madison High School, our students aspire every day to meet our RAMS Expectations:
- Respectful
- Accountable
- Motivated
- Self-Controlled
Our building PBIS program (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) is designed to promote those positive qualities in our students. Teachers acknowledge students' positive behaviors by awarding PBIS Rewards points, which in turn help students earn a variety of incentives from snacks, to in school assemblies and activities, to field trips. A progressive discipline system is also in place to address the instances when student behavior does not meet our RAMS Expectations.
Here are some examples of our RAMS Expectations in action:
- Respectful - Positive interactions with both staff and other students
- Accountable - Attending all classes, arriving on time, and being prepared every day
- Motivated - Staying engaged in class activities and putting forth consistent effort
- Self-Controlled - Responding in a calm, positive manner in emotional situations
Celebrating our Students!
As we close out this school year, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the awesome events our students have participated in and the amazing accomplishments our students have worked hard for. The purpose of this final newsletter is to recap those events and accomplishments.

TMHS Students Visit the Supreme Court of Ohio
Recently, TMHS students from Mrs. Houston's World History classes, Mr. Conrad's American Government classes, and Mr. Opperman's AP American Government students got the opportunity to visit the Supreme Court of Ohio. The students were able to view Oral Arguments for a Supreme Court case and tour the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. What an awesome opportunity!
Special shout out to Mrs. Houston who has taken her students on this field trip for many years. This will be her last trip as she is retiring this year. Thank you for your service Mrs. Houston!
Electives Night at TMHS
Our Electives team, led by Mrs. Adrienne Robinson, presented an awesome evening for students and families to highlight the various Electives classes, programs, and career opportunities. There were hands-on experiences for Art and Manufacturing, Mindfulness Yoga, interactive drones and robotics simulations, CPR demonstrations, and more! There were performances by the TMHS band, choir, and ROTC, as well as delicious food and prize giveaways. All in all, it was a fantastic night of fun and learning! The NHS is one of the most prestigious student organizations in the nation and is founded on four central pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. All of our new inductees were chosen because they exemplify those qualities. Congratulations to all our new NHS members!

2024 Construction Career Day
Students had a great time at the Construction Career Days event May 9th. They met over 100 construction employers and experienced hands on activities they would be preforming on the job. 4 of our students signed up for the VIP experience and were guaranteed job interviews on May 17th. Some of the students in our Manufacturing program were able to show off their OSHA 10 certification they got in school while talking with employers. This was an awesome opportunity for all students involved!
