Dear Parents/Guardians,
Monday night at 7pm in room 108 is our monthly NNHS Booster Club meeting.
Wednesday night at 7pm in the Learning Commons SFCP will host a parent to parent panel discussion for incoming freshman parents.
Our Spring Musical, Matilda, begins on Thursday evening through Sunday with several performances to choose from.
Please remind your driving students to be compliant with posted signs and restrictions when parking near NNHS. I’ve received multiple requests in the past month regarding students parking illegally on private property (businesses, nearby apartment lots, etc). The intention of these requests is to avoid needing to tow a vehicle. Private property parking isn’t police enforced, however, which leaves very few options to property managers impacted by the extra cars.
Thank you for entrusting your students to our care.
Stephanie Posey
Principal

Opportunity to host a French student: In order to promote language learning and cultural appreciation, the French teachers at Naperville North and Central are offering an opportunity for American students to host high school students from the city of Lille, France. Typically, we need 25 families to host the French students for about two weeks. The tentative dates of their stay are October 12th - 26th, 2024. The visiting students’ level of English varies.
This spring, ten NNHS students from North, fifteen NCHS students, NCHS French teacher Monsieur Whitt, and NNHS French teacher Madame Shamrock spent two weeks in France. The trip included an 8-day stay with host families in Lille and a few days in Paris. Fifteen of the students on this trip had hosted a French student in the Spring of 2023 and were able to stay with their exchange student’s family.
Responsibilities for host families are as follows:
1. Provide a bed (not necessarily in a dedicated room) for the student to sleep.
2. Provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for students during their 2-week stay.
3. Encourage practicing of English and encourage your student to practice French.
4. Provide transportation to school (they can take the bus if your student takes the bus). The visiting student may occasionally need transportation to the train station for visits to Chicago.
5. Incorporate the visiting student into your daily routine so that they can experience daily life in the U.S.
6. Pick up and drop off the visiting student at the airport.
If you would like to host a student from France in the Fall of 2024, please fill out this Google Form to indicate your interest and any questions that you may have.
This is a first come, first served process. If you are interested, please complete the form as soon as possible in order to reserve your spot. The deadline to indicate your interest in hosting is May 1st, 2024. Any questions, please contact Lisa Shamrock (lshamrock@naperville203.org) or Brenna Verdier (bverdier@naperville203.org).
