Bison Grams
We’re inviting our entire community to participate in our 2nd annual Bison Cares fundraising event called Bison Grams. Inspired by the Loveland Hearts program, Bison Grams are wood Bison shaped signs painted by High Plains staff and students with a personal message. Signs will then be hung on the fence surrounding the High Plains School February 7-February 21.
Bison Grams are available for $20, cash or check; checks made payable to High Plains School. Checks or cash need to be hand delivered or mailed to the school. Messages can include up to 25 characters including spaces. Fill out this form to reserve your Bison Gram. Bison Grams are limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Bison Cares is a grant-supported fund with the purpose of creating equity by financially supporting High Plains students so that they can participate in district/school-sponsored activities and/or have school needs met. There are three ways to help: by donating, spreading the word, or applying. If you’d like to support or apply for this program, you can go to the High Plains website -> Family & Community -> Family Information -> Bison Cares for more information. Thank you for helping to empower students and families to be the best that they can be.

National Poverty in America Awareness Month
Hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion, disabilities, restricted access to participation in the democratic process. These are just some of the many manifestations of poverty.
The Thompson School District's McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program works with homeless families to arrange transportation to and from a child’s school of origin, ensures that homeless students receive services, and identifies and eliminates barriers to school enrollment and attendance. TSD currently serves 505 students in the McKinney-Vento program. For more information, contact McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison, erica.wooldridge@tsd.org. Resources:
