TPS District Newsletter
Tewksbury Public Schools
May 2024
Message from the Superintendent
Dear TPS Community,
As we enter into this long holiday weekend, and as we say goodbye to May, I'd like to begin this newsletter by THANKING and showing our full APPRECIATION to all of you, as members of the Town of Tewksbury, for your support at the Monday, May 6th Town Meeting. You supported and approved the 2024-2025 school budget. You also supported using the town’s Stabilization Fund to make much-needed repairs and improvements within our school buildings. I have continuously found that our community shows their appreciation and support towards our schools, by making sure TPS has the resources needed to educate and care for the children of Tewksbury.
I’d also like to acknowledge all of our PACs and TPS supporters for their special show of appreciation throughout the month of May. You recognized our school principals, teachers, support staff, nurses, and school lunch heroes. Together with our School Committee, we also recognized and honored YOU for your dedication and commitment to our students. And, there simply are not enough words to truly thank the members of the Tewksbury community who came out last night to award over $185,000 in scholarships to our graduating seniors! It does take a whole village to make our schools a nurturing and wonderful place to be so our students can thrive. This TPS community is simply amazing in that way. THANK YOU!
For many, this long holiday weekend will be a time to enjoy parades and barbeques. Yet, as we begin the long holiday weekend, it’s also important to remember the fallen. Memorial Day is recognized this year on Monday, May 27, 2024, and is a solemn day that honors and acknowledges those who lost their lives while defending our country. My greatest appreciation and recognition goes out to those suffering from that loss while protecting the freedoms we all so deeply appreciate.
I wish our entire TPS community a restful and healthy long weekend.
Sincerely,
Brenda Theriault-Regan
