Dear Band Families,

What a big week!

I am SUPER proud of our amazing students!!!

CPA is such a big moment in any band's year.

And I truly feel both ensembles represented JICHS to the best of their abilities.

Both groups grew musically so much over the past few weeks.

It fills my heart with happiness to watch the kids play with such maturity and musicality.

Our schedule is going to be pretty quiet for the next few weeks in comparison to the last month! Thank you for making sure the kids got to where they needed to be and when they needed to be there. It makes all the difference in the world to have parents supporting our program. 🧡

Next up we are hosting Solo and Ensemble coming up on May 2nd and 3rd.

Aside from having 33 of our own events performing that day, we will need to work the event. That means we need to have students or parents who will work as pages outside the door keeping the rooms on schedule. We also will need to have students help set up the rooms before the event and clean up after the event. Parents we also need some adult volunteers to work at the concession stand.

We are hosting Solo and Ensemble again this year!

We need lots of help to make this a successful event for us and for the South Carolina Band Director's Association.

The dates are Friday May 2nd, and Saturday May 3rd.

We have 33 different JICHS events signed up for solo and ensemble. That might very well be a record for us...at least in recent memory. lol

The next few weeks we will definitely dedicate to getting ready all those events.

BUT we also need to plan for hosting the event. This means we need students AND parents to help out for both days.

Students can help by setting up on Friday after school, serving as pages outside the rooms during the event, and cleaning up after the event is over on Saturday.

Parents can help by serving as pages outside the rooms during the event, but they can also help with the concession stand throughout the event on Friday and Saturday.
