*HIGHLIGHTED EVENTS*
Inaugural Pizza Design Competition - CTA Liberty Winner!
CUSD Food and Nutrition recently organized the district’s first Pizza Design Competition that saw an overwhelming participation from students across all grade levels. The competition was divided into three divisions: Elementary, Jr High, and High School to ensure fair judgment across various age groups. The judges faced a tough task of choosing from all the creative and delicious submissions, but three pizzas stood out from the rest.
Congratulations to:
Antonio Darden, 6th grade student, who won the Elementary Division with his “The Perfect Pizza”. Antonio's "Perfect Pizza" has marinara sauce, mozzarella, garlic, bacon, feta cheese and hot honey! Yum!! Antonio's pizza will be an option at CTA Liberty for students and staff on April 4th.
On top of having his pizza creation served in our school cafeteria, Antonio received an engraved pizza peel to commemorate their achievement as the creator of the CUSD’s top pizza.
Congratulations Antonio!

The Arizona Tax Credit
It's not too late for 2023 tax credit donations. Tax credit donations for 2023 can be made until April 15, 2024. Now is a wonderful time to start thinking about making a tax credit donation to our school to help support extra-curricular activities, Character Ed programs, career and technical education programs, and to help acquire capital items for Liberty.
What is a tax credit?
A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the actual tax owed, not a deduction. A tax credit allows the contributor to subtract the amount of the qualifying tax credit from the money owed for state taxes. If no money is owed, the taxpayer will receive a refund. Tax credits can also reduce taxable income to the federal government.
Arizona law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers to make a Public-School Tax Credit contribution of up to $400.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married, filing Joint Return; $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Single or Head of Household; and, $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married filing separate return. Tax credit donations go directly to the schools and programs the donor appoints – not to the state.
Who can contribute?
Any Arizona taxpayer can make a tax credit donation, regardless of whether they have children in school or live within the CUSD boundaries. Only individual taxpayers can make a tax credit donation; tax credit donations cannot be made by businesses, LLC’s, trusts, estates, partnerships or corporations.
How do individuals make a tax credit donation online?
Parents/Guardians can make their tax credit donations online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Click here for parent/guardian instructions on how to make a tax credit donation online.
We appreciate your consideration and as always, thank you for supporting CTA Liberty!
