From the Principal's Desk: A note regarding Parish Appreciation Brunch
Good afternoon!
Many parents have inquired about their role at Sunday’s Parish Brunch.
First, thank you for putting this important event on your calendar, for contributing food, and for attending the Brunch with your children.
Second, it would be most helpful if families and staff helped to greet and to serve the parishioners as they arrive and go through the buffet line.
Thank you notes made by the students will already be on the tables, but a personal thank you from you as you introduce yourself and sit with them to eat would mean so much.
Many parishioners are not very mobile so offering to get them coffee or clearing their plates when they are through eating would be a much appreciated gesture.
When you are talking with them, please be sure to share your child’s experience here at SMS and ask of their experiences here at the school and parish. Many are graduates or have attended SMS at some point in their education. They love to share their stories and here about what is going on. Yes, you may hear of their antics with the nuns from long ago, or how they misbehaved, or about their favorite teachers.
I hope you are able to join us and be an active participant at the Brunch.
See you on Sunday,
Mrs. Beam

Cold/Flu Reminders!
In this season of colds, just a couple reminders for our students (especially the younger ones!)
- Please remind your students to wash their hands often and well!
- Show them how to sneeze into their elbow to help contain germs.
- Remind them to stay hydrated!
As a reminder to parents, it is our policy that your student be FEVER-FREE (without Tylenol or Motrin) for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you!
If your student isn't feeling well and needs to stay home, a call to the office by 8:30 is much appreciated.
Thank you so much, and good luck dodging the germs! :)
Catholic Schools Week: Volunteers and Books
An email was sent out yesterday to all the families detailing volunteer opportunities for the week. Please look it over and consider how you can help make this a wonderful week for our students!
The Catholic Schools Week Read-a-thon event is a student favorite! This year, we'd like to offer our families and students the opportunity to swap books to encourage a voracious appetite for reading! This year, please bring in books that are no longer in use in your home. We will set-up a book exchange in Rand Hall for students/families to access throughout the day! Please make sure all books donated are in Very Good to Like New condition. Please no water damage, ripped pages, ripped covers, etc.
Books can be brought in through Monday, January 29th. Thank you!
