THE WEEKLY LION UPDATE
RUSHVILLE CONSOLIDATED HIGH SCHOOL
LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU SEE IT!
week 6
It seems we would be in a lull after Homecoming! Once again what Christin Nicholls is able to do for homecoming is nothing short of remarkable! This week has really gone fast and ben full of some pretty amazing things. FFA is up and really rolling along, teachers are using so many creative techniques to help students learn, and our students are just great humans!! Another week in the books so all we can do now is hold onto the fact that "IT'ALMOST MONDAY!!!"
GREATNESS FROM STAFF AND STUDENTS
WEEKLY FFA AND AG RECAP
FFA State Officers
Indiana FFA State Officers and our own District IX President, Jenna Lawler, facilitated in ag classes on Tuesday. They visited 7th grade, Natural Resources and Animal Science classes. Students learned about leadership and communication!
DISTRICT IX KICKOFF
FFA members attended District IX kickoff in Hagerstown this week. They had a great time meeting members from other chapters and participating in fun activities. Rushville FFA has FIVE District Officers this year!! We are so proud of them and thankful for all members that attended!
EMS
The EMS class went to the Rushville Fire Department this past week and engaged in Fire Extinguisher training. This program is getting so much hands on experience!!
SHOUT OUTS
Rachel Monk - Shout out to Shea! Thank you for the amazing changes you've made to the Roar Store....especially the drink fridge!
Diana Shook - shout out to Edward Kiwala and Taylor Shook. They have both been very helpful in class, and they work very hard.
Curt Mock - Shout out to Shea. A great job in the book store. I like my room being next to the snacks.
Curt Mock - Shout out to Mrs. Smith. She does a great job in the office and its always nice to see her!
Joni Fenimore - Shout out to Zach Burchett for his efforts getting an ESports team started at RCHS. The excitement and camaraderie of the students participating after school earlier this week was a really cool thing to witness! I stopped in to see what was going on, and interacted with several of my former math students - instantly building a different relationship with them as they enthusiastically showed me what they were doing. (Several of them purposely avoided any conversations with me in math!) Great job, Zach!
Anne Rosario - Shout out to Brooke Edwards who always has the time to listen and use her time for the benefit of everyone.
Nan Scanlan - Shout out to Christin Nicholls for just being there.
Nan Scanlan - Shout out to Libby Adams for being able to laugh at herself in front of the students
Nan Scanlan - Shout out to Kelley McDermott for the questions she posts on her door each morning.
Warren Cook - Shout out to Sami DeLey and Karley Yager who came her to teach their passion of Ag and then were thrown into the role of FFA sponsors. These two have jumped right in and are doing amazing things already. These two are going to be GREAT!!!!
Warren Cook - Shout out to our new Business teacher James Allen! He is doing so many engaging and incredible things in his classroom! We are lucky to have him as part of our family!!
Christin Nicholls - Shout out to Curt Mock! He is always so willing to help with any group or school event.
Christin Nicholls - Shout out to Brett Smith and his classes. They are always helping around the school and facilities to keep things cleaned up and looking nice.
Shea Gerrian - Shout out to and Happiest of Birthdays to Mrs. Parmerlee!
Bryan Hummel - Shout out to Bob Bridges for all the roles he played at the homecoming dance and over the past few weeks. He almost got run over- twice- he found garbage cans for the venue (there were none until after it started), and he's generally just safety focused about our students and has a wonderfully gentle, compassionate soul.
Melissa Winkler - Shout Out to Mr. Cook for taking the time out of his busy schedule Monday to have lunch with our Athletic Council!
Melissa Winkler - Shout Out to our custodians, Pat Bump, Melanie Schilling and Karen Lafary for working hard this week to keep up with everything when we are down a person!

Liz Meek - Shout out to our maintenance crew for getting the interior of Door 26 fixed!
GREATNESS IN THE CLASSROOM
Biology II
Miss Edwards has her Biology II class working through a murder mystery. One might say how do we tie this fun event into Biology. The students are analyzing stomach contents!!!!!!!!
Principle's of Construction
Mr. Smith is taking his Principle's of Construction class into the lab and is working through their process lab!!
LINKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Drop Off/Pick Up
This is a reminder that there is a crosswalk on Harrison Street (the road east of the teacher parking lot). If you are dropping off (or picking up) your student on Harrison, you must stay on the correct side of the road. This is not a one-way and there are cars (and busses) coming both directions. It is imperative that everyone stay on their corresponding sides of the road for student safety. Please advise your students to use the crosswalk because there are many cars in that area.
