Supporting a Clean Campus - Custodial
Please read this note about maintaining a clean campus.
Dispose of trash properly: Place all trash in designated bins, both inside and outside the school.
Be mindful of spills and messes: If you see a spill, try to clean it up yourself if possible, or alert a staff member if it's a bigger mess.
Respect school property: Avoid leaving food scraps, gum, or other litter on desks or floors. Treat furniture and equipment with care.
Respect work hours:Students on campus after practices without adult supervision is not allowed. When practice ends, coaches make sure that all students are out of the building and the doors are locked. There are students that linger after school hours and impede the custodial staff from finishing their jobs. We ask that students get picked up promptly after their practice or event is over at Truckee High School.
Arriving to Campus
Student Drop Off
The main drop off location for students is the front of campus, main entrance, on Donner Pass Road. Bike parking is also located adjacent to the staff parking in this zone. Please arrive before 7:25 and be punctual, courteous, and patient.
Avoid dropping your student off at the door closest to their classroom. Doing so after 7:20 creates other traffic problems for those parking in the West Wing, South, and East parking lots. Any student arriving after 7:30 must enter through the main entrance and check in at the Attendance Office.
Do not open doors for students or adults after 7:30. All doors will remain locked as per ALICE Safety Protocol.
Attendance
When clearing absences contact the front office or please contact Mimi Espinoza-Torres, THS Attendance Secretary, nespinoza-torres@ttusd.org.
To improve punctuality and create a focused learning environment, students will participate in a 2-3 minute non-teacher-directed graded warm-up or bell ringer activity. During this time teachers will take attendance and foster a positive classroom atmosphere. The warm-up will account for up to 10% of students’ grade. Classroom doors will be locked when the late bell rings. Students must get a pass from the Attendance Office or a Campus Monitor.
When students get to their 6th - 9th tardy they will be assigned detention and teachers will contact home. For the 10th tardy, a referral will be submitted and a parent meeting will be scheduled.
Thank you for ensuring students are on time to school in the morning and for speaking with your student about punctuality each period of the day.
