Therapist Spotlight
Meet Lindsey!
It has been a passion and mission throughout her life to help those who are struggling feel less alone. Recognizing that human life can be very challenging, Lindsey believes that through connection and understanding, individuals can be empowered to find strength in their weaknesses. Her goal has always been to create a safe and accepting space for clients, considering it both an honor and privilege to hear people’s stories and support them on their healing journey.
With an extensive background working with individuals of all ages, demographics, and diagnoses in imminent crisis, Lindsey has spent over the past ten years collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to assess and implement clinically appropriate safety and treatment plans in various settings, including medical, educational, community, and law enforcement environments. She firmly believes that it “takes a village” to overcome life's obstacles and that by working together, there is hope for brighter days ahead.

Q: Can you tell us about your background and what led you to become a therapist?
A: Ever since I was a child, I have had interest in helping others, in particular with mental health struggles. Being exposed to the hardships of life at a young age, through family issues and personally, I have developed a strong sense of self-awareness that has helped guide me down this path. I truly believe my purpose is through connection and I am passionate about learning/growing from one another. When going through mental health crises, people's sense of hopelessness is heightened, which has always empowered me to be a pillar of light and strength for them. None of us are immune to trauma and difficult times in our lives, and it's important to lead with kindness, understanding, and acceptance.
Q: How do you build trust and rapport with new clients? (Shows their approach to creating a safe and supportive environment).
A: I always strive to meet people where they are at. I embrace diversity and believe our differences make us collectively stronger, which allows me to intently listen and validate people. Taking a person-centered approach, allows my patients to feel safe and unguarded. I value every connection and opportunity to provide support.
Seasonal Stress and Self-Care
Coping with Seasonal Stress:
For many, the holidays are a time of joy and togetherness, but they can also bring added stress—whether it’s balancing family dynamics, financial pressures, or feelings of isolation. We understand that the holiday season can sometimes amplify stress, anxiety, or sadness. If you find yourself struggling, know that you are not alone.
Here are a few strategies to help manage seasonal stress:
- Set Boundaries: It’s okay to say no to events or expectations that feel overwhelming. Prioritize what truly brings you joy and peace.
- Practice Mindfulness: Taking a few moments each day to focus on your breath, take a walk, or simply be present can help reduce feelings of anxiety.
- Reach Out for Support: If you’re feeling isolated or down, talking to a therapist can provide a much-needed space for processing your emotions.
Self-Care During the Holidays
In the rush of holiday preparations, it's easy to forget to take care of yourself. Prioritizing self-care is essential for maintaining emotional and physical well-being, especially during this busy time. Consider the following tips:
- Make Time for Rest: Sleep is essential for mental health. Aim for consistent sleep schedules, even when the holiday buzz is in full swing.
- Nourish Your Body: It’s easy to indulge in rich foods and sweets, but maintaining a balanced diet can help stabilize your mood and energy levels.
- Engage in Activities You Enjoy: Whether it’s reading, painting, or spending time outdoors, take time to do something that brings you happiness and relaxation.
Looking Back at 2024: A Year of Growth
This year, we’ve witnessed incredible growth and resilience in our clients. It’s been an honor to support so many of you through your journeys. We want to remind you that therapy is not just about addressing crises—it’s about fostering growth, self-compassion, and resilience. As we enter the new year, we encourage you to continue investing in your mental health and making progress, no matter how big or small.

By donating gifts, essentials, and holiday cheer, we can make a positive impact on the lives of local families facing difficult circumstances. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the community and spread the spirit of giving during this special time of year.
