Welcome back to Northwood Middle School!

Dear Families,

Welcome to the new school year at Northwood Middle School! We are excited to embark on another year of learning, growth, and community building.

We are thrilled to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Elizabeth Andrachik. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting our students, staff, and families. We are confident that her positive energy and dedication will greatly benefit our school community. Please help Mr. Basinski and Mr. Capacetti welcome her with open arms.

As we begin this school year, please take note of the following important dates and information:

August 7 and 8: WEB Leader Training
August 9: 5th Grade Orientation 8-12pm
August 12: Grade 5 Specific Parents Orientation 5:30-6:30
August 15: Open House - 5:30-6:30

August 19: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names A-G
August 20: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names H-O
August 21: K-9 Staggered Start - 1st day for Students with Last Names P-Z
August 22: First Day of School for ALL K-9

We encourage you to stay engaged and involved in your child's education. Together, we can create a supportive and enriching environment for all our students.

Please make sure your student has their Back-to School update done prior to attending their First Day of School. If you need support please reach out.

WEB!

Welcome Rising 5th Graders!!!

We hope this message finds you well. We are excited to inform you about an upcoming event at Northwood Middle School that we believe will greatly benefit your child’s transition and experience.

Our W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) Day is on August 9th 2024. This day is designed to help incoming students feel welcomed and comfortable as they prepare to join our middle school community.

To ensure your child has a successful and enjoyable experience, please ensure they bring the following items on W.E.B. Day:

- Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for indoor and outdoor activities.

- A water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.

- Any necessary medications or special accommodations, if applicable. (Must have signed medication request form)

NO NEED FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT THIS TIME.

This day promises to be both informative and enjoyable, offering new students the chance to make friends, learn about their new school, and feel confident as they begin this exciting chapter at the Middle School.

W.O.W. (While Out Walking) Moments at NWMS

Mr. Basinski and his crew!

Mr. Basinski has spent some time every summer of his life in Topsail Island, North Carolina. This past summer was no exception. He loves spending time with his family. His pastimes include reading, puzzles, and anything Cleveland sports. He is so excited about the upcoming year.

Mr. Capacetti is so happy to be back!

Mr. Capacetti and his son Carlos love baseball. Going to Progressive has to be one of their favorite past times. We bonded over baseball, swimming, and gymnastics! It is going to be a great year to be a Pioneer.

Welcome Mrs. Andrachik!!!

Hilton Head, South Carolina is Mrs. Andrachik and her family’s ‘Happy Place’ often over summer break. From exploring the beaches to family hikes and biking on the trails, the fun in the sun and making memories suits the Andrachik family well! Mrs. Andrachik and her husband Keith, daughter Kaitlyn, and son Luke love taking in the Hilton Head scenery and events with friends and family as often as possible.
