The School Year is Fall-ing Into Place!

Greetings to the Wonderful NRESC Family!

We have completed 20% of the school year and we are turning the calendar into the holiday season! Before we know it, 2025 will be here! Regardless of the season or the year, the Commission will continue to offer exceptional solutions to specific educational challenges.

Winter Basketball Registration is LIVE!

NRESCY (pronounced NER-ES-KEY), the Commission's plushy, is HERE! We look forward to providing each student, staff member, board member, and client with one as soon as possible!

Whether you are leading a lesson or therapy session, fixing a printer, crunching numbers, closing up a bus at night, taking a test, or on vacation, snap a picture of NRESCY in action and tag the Commission on social media!

Halloween at Phoenix!

The crew at the Phoenix Center went with the sports team theme for Halloween! It was definitely scary, as many of these teams have caused both children and adults numerous sleepless nights of late!

Second Home took advantage of some of this beautiful October weather with a fun outing to Verona Park!

Community Toy Drive Success!

Thank you to everyone in the Second Home community who donated toys for our child care centers! Ms. Susan Koger, Supervisor of Child Care, was overwhelmed with gratitude with the amount of generous donations from our community, especially from Second Home!

Fun at the Phoenix Fall Festival!

Thank you to the Phoenix team for hosting such a fun fall festival. Our staff and their families had such a wonderful time celebrating with the community. We are already looking forward to next year!

Sliding into Fall in Woodland Park!

Childcare services is happy to provide before and after school care for Pompton Lakes, Riverdale, and Woodland Park. These programs extend a child's learning day in a fun and meaningful way!

Hope Students Igniting Change!

The Passaic County Teen Summit was held on October 25th. This year's theme was “Empowering Voices, Igniting Change.” Hope students enjoyed the day's activities, as well as the keynote speaker. Over the next few months, students will collaborate to develop and submit a video effectively communicating their message of teen suicide prevention. We look forward to seeing our students' finished projects!

Hope Bridges Project Soars!

Thank you to the Bridges Project and Councilwoman Rosetta McCamery for coming to Hope Academy to offer their amazing program @letssoarnj to our kids!!! Councilwoman McCamery of Roselle is also a 20 year Air Force veteran who is the founder of S.O.A.R. which is an amazing non-profit based here in New Jersey. She told us a little about her story and motivated our kids with her passion!

For Fire Safety Month, children at PLDC learned what to do in case of a fire.

Dr. Vancheri Breaks Out His Electoral College Lesson

For our monthly lunch and learn at central office, Dr. Vancheri broke out his lesson on the Electoral College from his high school history teaching days & led a non-partisan discussion about the executive branch, how we elect a president, & which states to watch for on election night!! He even pulled out an old quiz as an ice breaker!!!

NRESC Staff Mingling in Atlantic City

Two members of the NRESC administrative team attended the 2024 NJSBA workshop: Ann Kluck, Business Administrator, and Brian Zinn, Director of Shared Technology Services. They participated in various workshops and met individually with vendors to support both the NRESC and our partner districts. Vendors like Public Sewer Service and Keyboard Consultants provided personalized guidance to help NRESC find effective solutions to some of our key challenges.

Second Home is so thankful to continue our partnership with John P. Holland Charter School's middle school volunteers!

November 15: Last Day for Round 1 Observations of Certificated Staff Members.
November 27: Early Dismissal for all NRESC schools and programs, as well as central office.
November 28-29: NRESC central office, schools, and programs are CLOSED (Thanksgiving Break).
December 20: Early Dismissal for all NRESC schools and programs, as well as central office.
