May 2024 Update
From the Office of the Superintendent
BOE Honors our Teachers/Support Staff of the Year and Retirees!
Dear Oceanport Families and Community Members,
At the May 15, 2024 Board of Education Meeting, several district personnel were honored for their service and contributions to the school district. We honored our Teachers and Educational Service Professionals of the Year. The honorees were:
Teachers of the Year:
Elizabeth Mistretta - Wolf Hill Elementary School
Corey Billy - Maple Place Middle School
Educational Service Professionals of the Year:
Alyssa Lynn - Wolf Hill Elementary School
Andrew Becker - Maple Place Middle School
Thank you for all you do for our students each and every day! This recognition is only a small token for the difference your presence in our district makes for children.
We also had the pleasure of recognizing many long-standing district employees as they embark on the next chapter of their lives - retirement! The honorees were:
Annamarie Harwood
Michele Lomazzo
Darragh O’Donnell
Anthony Grassi (effective 10/1/24)
Amy Wilbanks
Annamarie Harwood: Annamarie has been a part of the Oceanport School District since 1993 teaching First Grade, Preschool, Resource Room (RR) and In Class Resource (ICR). She is retiring from her current position as the Wolf Hill Third Grade RR and ICR teacher.
Michele Lomazzo: Michele has been a part of the Oceanport School District since 2003 as a Second Grade Teacher retiring from that position.
Darragh O’Donnell: Darragh has been a part of the Oceanport School District since 1999, teaching Fourth Grade retiring from that position.
Anthony Grassi: Anthony has been a part of the Oceanport School District since 2002, teaching Fifth Grade, Eighth Grade and Fifth-Eighth Grade Technology. Anthony is retiring from his current position as the Maple Place Technology Teacher.
Amy Wilbanks: Amy has been a part of the Oceanport School District since 2004. Amy was a lunch aide and worked in our before and after school program. She is retiring from her current position as the district courier.
To honor our retirees, the Maple Place and Wolf Hill Choruses sang the Star Spangled Banner and True Colors under the direction of Mrs. Bach. This moving and symbolic dedication was a beautiful tribute to our honorees.
We deeply appreciate and honor the positive contributions each retiree had on the students of Oceanport over the years. Best wishes to our retirees!
Thank you,
Karen Barry
Superintendent
