Principals Message
Giving Thanks. Thanksgiving break gives us a moment to pause and recognize everything for which we are thankful. It has been a great start to the school year because we have exceptional students at CHS. None of what we do would be possible without the support of our families, community, and fantastic staff. We truly appreciate the efforts that all of you are putting into making this school year possible. Thank you!
Trimester 1 report cards will be mailed home the week of December 2nd. Trimester 2 begins with all new classes on Monday, December 2nd. We are eager to continue to embrace our mission of helping each student demonstrate high academic standards in an equitable, supportive school culture and graduate college and be career-ready as we start our new trimester, which can only happen with everyone's support. It is going to be a great Trimester 2 and winter season. Check Student Vue/Parent Vue for your trimester 2 classes. See this CHS Weekly Message below for your assigned lunch based on your 3rd Period Class.
Finally, we would like to invite all our CHS Families and community members to the first of many CHS Parent/Community Nights this Wednesday, December 4th, at 5:30 PM. We will show you how to help best your student plan their classes to reach their goals and share many resources and community organizations. There will be free food and fun; everything will be welcome, so we hope to see you there.
See you all Monday as we Trimester 2.

High school is a very challenging period for many students. Subject concepts become harder, and the workload increases. With these changes, many students can experience difficulties in school. This doesn’t happen overnight. For a student, failing school is a progression of missed assignments, skipped classes, and failed tests. As a parent, it’s very important for you to address the problem in a timely manner and get your child back on track before he or she gets completely behind.
Here are some tips on how your child can succeed in high school: Be proactive; Use online ParentVue; Make an appointment with a counselor/teacher to identify the problem. CHS offers free-of-charge peer/adult tutoring for after-school tutors (M-Th), Before School (W), and during lunches (M/Th) for the rest of the year. Our teachers may provide before or after-school help to students (need to set the time in advance with teachers).
