đź’» New PfISD Website!
We are excited to introduce you to our newly redesigned PfISD.net website! This change was prompted by the need to move to a new platform, as our previous vendor is retiring the system we were using. With the transition, we’ve taken the opportunity to refresh our online presence, using feedback from parents, staff, and community members to create a site that better serves our district.
Our new website has improved features, including enhanced calendars, updated staff directories, and better search tools to help you quickly and easily find what you need. We believe this site truly highlights the incredible programs across PfISD, celebrates the successes of our students and staff, and makes it simpler for you to stay connected.
While we have worked hard to build a robust and beautiful site, we know that there may still be a few bumps along the way. Rest assured, we are not done yet—we will continue to make refinements and improvements in the days ahead. We would love to hear from you if you encounter any issues or have feedback! Please reach out to us by emailing webmaster@PfISD.net or visiting PfISD.net to share your thoughts.
Thank you for your support as we continue to improve our online presence!

đź“ť Apply now for the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards
Applications for the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards open until December 2
SAN ANTONIO, Texas—H-E-B is now accepting applications for the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, which awards cash prizes to educators who go the extra mile to serve their students and their communities. All state-certified public school educators currently teaching in Texas, as well as Texas early childhood education centers/schools, are eligible to apply before December 2, 2024 at heblovesteachers.com/apply/.
The 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards categories include:
Teacher
School Counselor
Principal
Early Childhood Facility
School Board
School District
Since 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program has awarded more than $14 million in funding to finalists, winners and their schools.
“The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards is more than just recognition—it’s an opportunity for teachers, counselors, and administrators to win cash prizes and matching grants for their schools,” Jill Reynolds, H-E-B Public Affairs Manager, said. “An application can lead to funding that has impactful benefits for educators, their students and community.”
Every year, H-E-B accepts nominations for the Excellence in Education Awards before applications open. While a nomination is not required to apply for an award, a nomination lets an educator know they are appreciated and encouraged to apply for the awards program. Nominees will receive an emailed invitation to apply and must submit an application to be considered for the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. Individuals who nominated an educator can encourage them to apply as well.
Finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of judges composed of educators, administrators and community leaders throughout the state. Ten winners—six teachers, two counselors and two principals—along with an early childhood facility, public school board and two school districts, will be announced at an awards ceremony in May 2025. Each award recipient’s school will also receive a matching grant.
In 2024, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program distributed over $780,000 in cash and grants to educators and schools. Through this program, H-E-B seeks to pay tribute to those educators who go the extra mile each day to serve their students and communities and who inspire others to do the same. To apply, visit heblovesteachers.com/apply/.
Eligibility
Eligibility is not dependent on proximity to H-E-B store locations. Teachers who have been previously selected as statewide winners are not eligible to reapply until they have entered a new award category based on years of experience. Teachers who have been chosen as a statewide finalist must wait at least one year before reapplying.
School district, early childhood and school board winners are not eligible to reapply. Finalists in these categories must wait at least one year before re-applying.

đź“Ł Shout Outs from Parents, Students, and Community Members
Meaghan Regier at John B. Connally High School (via:anon) Ms. Regier does a fantastic job of encouraging students and guiding them as they work through the process of understanding challenging material (AP Calculus BC). We are thankful she is part of the Cougar Family!
Jordan James at KLMS (via:Michael E.)They instantly email me back and always are understanding.
Kendra Towery at Kelly Lane (via:Victoria E.) Ms. Towery exemplifies exceptional teaching qualities. Her passion for education truly resonates in her classroom, where she successfully engages her students through her lessons. My daughter often comments that the class is far from boring, which speaks volumes in "teen standards". Additionally, I appreciate the weekly email updates that inform parents what topics are being covered along with study guides. THANK YOU Ms. Towery!
Ms Katelyn Brooks at Mucrhicson Elementary - 5th Grade (via: anon) Ms Brooks is just magical. That's the best single word I can sum it up in. Ms. Brooks is extremely supportive to both the students and parents, encourages creativity, takes the time to assist the students with their assignments, and is a pure joy to be around. You can spot the people who were just born to be teachers, and that is Ms Brooks. ELA has never been my kids favorite subject, but this year he is really enjoying ELA all because of Ms. Brooks. She also takes the time to write personalized notes to parents about their children. This is truly amazing and honestly, I feel so spoiled it's going to make transitioning to middle school even harder for me! :) Thank you Ms. Brooks for being you, you are one of a kind.
Michelle Mach at Timmerman Elemtary (via: Kenia M) She goes above and beyond to assist all the children. She organizes the communication between staff and us, always keeps us informed and just provides an environment where my special needs son WANTS to learn. He is exited to go to school and that is a first for our family. (my son is in 2nd grade). For the firat time in 3 years my son wakes up and is excited to go to school and we believe wholeheartedly she is the reason. She also keeps us informed everyday and this is extremely helpful! We are beyond grateful and I really hope she knows this. I watch her with other little ines and ahe gives them all the care and compassion they need. She is obviously doing a job she cares about and it shows!!
Mr. Little at Windermere Elementary (via: Rachael S.)
Mr Little has been an amazing teacher and makes learning enjoyable!
Katherine Comardo (Ms.Comardo) at Hidden Lake Elementary (via: anon)
I wanna give a big thanks to Ms.Comardo for everything she does for our kiddos! My son loves her and she is the reason why he wakes up and it’s excited to go to school! Love her commitment to our kiddos and her communication toward our kids and how to help them.
From the moment we met her at the beginning of the school year, her warmth and enthusiasm were evident. What I appreciate most is her ability to connect with each student individually. She recognizes their unique strengths and challenges, tailoring her approach to meet their needs. Her communication with parents is also commendable. Regular updates and insights into the classroom help us stay connected and involved in our child’s education.
