RECENT WORK AT OUR OLE PROPERTY 🐑
OLE: Outdoor Learning Environment
What is the OLE Property?
The OLE Property is a piece of district-owned land located in the Twelve Bridges area, just off Eastridge Drive. It was previously owned and managed by the Western Placer Education Foundation before WPUSD took ownership several years ago.
Who maintains it?
The property is maintained by WPUSD staff. Our maintenance team works year-round to keep the area clean and safe—removing trash, addressing graffiti, and mitigating potential safety hazards. Each spring, the district partners with local livestock companies to manage vegetation and reduce fire risk through targeted grazing.
Is it open to the public?
No. The OLE Property is not a public park—it is private district property intended for outdoor student learning experiences. Unfortunately, the district has faced ongoing issues with unauthorized use of the land for dirt biking, vandalism, and other inappropriate activities. These are not permitted, and we ask the community to help us protect the space for educational purposes.
SUCCESS STORY! PHOENIX HIGH STUDENTS READ TO FIRST STREET ELEMENTARY 📖
Thanks to the Western Placer Education Foundation and WPUSD LCAP, students from Phoenix High were able to pick out a children's book that they later read to their younger peers.
PLATEFUL (AKA FOOD SERVICE) NEWS! 🍲
Plateful Team Places 3rd in Chili Cookoff!
Our team showed up and showed out at the LHS Farm Open House Chili Cook Off — and took home 3rd place!
Not only was their chili and cornbread school food compliant (how cool is that?), but the best part? They saw the event and took the initiative to participate, proudly representing our department and showcasing the power of school food in the WPUSD community.
Huge shout out to Cindy (Lead at GEMS), Dani (Lead at CCC), and Shan (Lead at TBHS) for stepping up and bringing the heat — in more ways than one! We’re so proud of your passion, your teamwork, and your commitment to our kids and community.
And a big congratulations to the LHS Farm for celebrating 50 years of agricultural excellence!

PORTRAIT OF A LEARNER 🎓
WHAT'S BUZZING ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA?📱
✨Recognizing Excellence✨
For 26 years, Mr. Eric Souto has been more than just a teacher—he's been an inspiration. Year after year at Twelve Bridges Elementary, his students consistently achieve some of the highest 5th Grade Math and Language Arts SBAC scores in the district (SBAC is a statewide test that measures how well students are mastering grade-level standards in English Language Arts and Math).
Every 15 Minutes at TBHS🚓
TBHS hosted its first-ever Every 15 Minutes demonstration—an emotional and impactful event aimed at educating students about the devastating consequences of drinking and driving.
The Every 15 Minutes program challenges students to confront the very real possibility of losing a friend, classmate, or loved one due to impaired driving.
Día del Niño at Creekside Oaks
Creekside Oaks Elementary — home to our Dual Language Immersion program — celebrated the 100th anniversary of Día del Niño! 🎈
Día del Niño is a cherished tradition that honors the joy, dreams, and rights of children around the world. 🌟
Members from the LHS ALAS (Association of Latin American Students) Club planned and led a special all-day celebration to honor Día del Niño! Students enjoyed dancing, piñatas, music, games, crafts, treats, and lots of smiles as they came together to celebrate.🎨
