TTVA Communication
Greetings, TTVA Families. Back-to-school preparations are underway as we work to welcome students and families to the new school year at Tigard-Tualatin Virtual Academy. Please keep an eye on your email for updates and further information as the first day of school approaches. Email and text messaging will be the primary means of school-wide communication. Please review your information in ParentVue to ensure that we have the right email and phone number.
Student Technology Pick Up
Who: Middle school students who need to exchange their iPad for a Chromebook, Students that are new to TTVA and do not have a functioning district-provided Chromebook.
What: Pick up your district-issued Chromebook.
When: August 26-30 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you need to pick up at a different time, please contact the TTVA Office.

Reminders
- Schedules are available on August 27th in StudentVUE.
September 3rd is the first day of school for 9th graders, as well as orientation for all new TTVA students.

Back-to-School Night
Back-to-school night is an opportunity for all students and their families to speak with teachers and TTVA staff. Teachers will also distribute class-specific supplies such as painting and science kits and be available to answer questions.

TTVA Online Store
TTVA t-shirts are now available for purchase on the TTVA website under "TTVA Online Store," including a limited edition student design created by Macee, an 11th grader. Click here to purchase a shirt.
Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend their required live class sessions. This is the best way to ensure you get daily attendance. At TTVA we record when students are present, not when they are absent. Students who have not had contact with a teacher will be part of the robocall each afternoon. Please make sure your students are attending class and staying in contact with their teachers. If you student is ill or will miss class please follow the process below to report and absence.
Reporting Absences
Parents/Guardians must call the attendance office to report a student's absence
What we need to know: Student name, student ID, and reason for absence

Excused absences include:
- Personal illness, medical, psychological and dental care
- Illness or death in the family
- Family emergencies
- Release time for religious instruction
- Observance of religious holidays
- Pre-arranged absences
- School sponsored activities
